What better way to celebrate an anniversary than with an original vintage diamond ring? Thanks everyone for sharing your gorgeous jewelry in the Show Me the Bling forum!
Circe’s lovely ring features a unique 2.5 carat transitional-cut diamond set in a vintage platinum ring. What is a transitional-cut? On the diamond-cut timeline, there are design periods marked by different cutting styles, which include old-mine cuts, old-European cuts, and modern round brilliant cuts. “Transitional” is a term some dealers and collectors use to describe older round brilliant-cut diamonds that were cut in between those periods, as one style transitioned into the next. The term is also used to refer to stones with unique proportions that reflect early brilliant-cut innovations.
We are fortunate that our members share these unique cuts with us, so thanks Circe for posting this piece!
