According to Bundle.com, the most expensive jeweler in the U.S. is Harry Winston in New York City. Results were based on average receipt amounts pulled from millions of transactions from July 2010 to June 2011. Harry Winston tops the list with an average sales receipt of $8,388.
It’s no surprise that average receipts from Chopard, De Beers, Van Cleef & Arpels, and Rolex are among the top 15 in the country, but what about Graff and Leviev? If jewelers were ranked “by largest average transactions,” surely these companies would make the top 15. It is unclear if Bundle was assessing volume in addition to average sale or average sale per company. Bundle states the data in the graphic (below) is from Citi. Perhaps additional data would create a more inclusive list.
Bundle did mention why Tiffany & Co. was omitted, and the same likely follows for Cartier and others with popular items starting at lower price points.
