In August 2024, round diamonds maintained their position as the most popular shape on the market, representing 86.05% of total popularity—a slight increase of 0.32% from July 2024. The emerald cut remains in second place, with its popularity rising by 2.01%. The oval cut continues to hold third place, showing a significant 9.43% increase in popularity. The cushion cut stays in fourth place, with a 3.33% uptick in popularity. Meanwhile, the princess cut remains in fifth place, though its popularity saw a decline of 12.93%.

This August the average price per carat for a round diamond of 1 – 1.19 carat G color VS1 clarity is $5,999 compared to July 2024 which was an average price of $5,934. The average price per carat for round diamonds has increased by 1.10% since last month.
