In October 2024, round diamonds continued to dominate the market, accounting for 80.42% of total popularity, with a notable increase of 4.62% compared to September. The oval cut moved into second place, overtaking the princess cut with a 37.03% rise in popularity. Cushion diamonds also climbed from fourth to third place, experiencing a 21.88% boost. The emerald cut saw a rise in popularity as well, jumping from fifth to fourth place with a 27.41% increase. Meanwhile, the princess cut dropped from second to fifth place, experiencing a significant decline of 75.20%.

This October the average price per carat for a round diamond of 1 – 1.19 carat G color VS1 clarity is $5,872 compared to September 2024 which was an average price of $5,699. The average price per carat for round diamonds has increased by 3.04% since last month.
