In September 2024, round diamonds maintained their position as the most popular shape on the market, representing 76.87% of total popularity—although decreasing in popularity (%) by 10.67% from August 2024. The princess cut went from ranking fifth in August to second this September—increasing by 393%. The oval remains in third place— increasing by 18.28%. Cushion remains in fourth place—increasing by 13.99%. Emerald went from second place in August to fifth place in September—decreasing by 14.80%.

This September the average price per carat for a round diamond of 1 – 1.19 carat G color VS1 clarity is $5,699 compared to August 2024 which was an average price of $5,999. The average price per carat for round diamonds has decreased by 5% since last month.
