The holiday season is upon us, and the shopping has already begun. If you want to buy jewelry for gifting your loved ones, we are here to help! We’ve put…
Thanks for joining us again for the next part of our look at fancy cut diamonds. In case you missed it, you can find Part I here (https://www.pricescope.com/blog/oh-youre-fancy-part-1). Now, let’s pick up where we left off with another personal (and celebrity favorite) fancy cut, the Asscher.
Asscher Cut Diamond
As mentioned previously, Asscher fancy cut diamonds have become a celebrity favorite. The Asscher’s trademark is a square stone with cropped corners. Much like other stones with large surface areas, the Asscher shows it’s color very well. However, many buyers prefer the stones with a G-H color.
Marquise Cut Diamond
If you want a stone made for royalty, then the marquise cut is for you. King Louis XV has this cut created to give to his mistress. It was said to mimic her smile. Today the stone is so popular, that the shape is now used with diamonds as well as other gemstones. Unfortunately, it’s beauty can be fragile and one needs to ensure that it’s the stone’s points are protected. The upswing though, is that your fingers will look slender and elegant whenever you’re wearing a marquise fancy cut ring.
Princess Cut Diamond
Now let’s venture from a king to a princess with this exquisite cut. Modern princesses love this shape. It’s geometric shape creates dazzling light, not to mention that you can get a larger stone for the same price you would get a smaller round brilliant stone. If you’re all about sparkle, then select the brilliant princess fancy cut. Be aware though, this cut is definitely for modern-day princesses because much like the marquise cut, the stone’s edges are prone to chipping and not made for an active life.
Radiant Cut Diamond
Radiant cut diamonds are akin to finding the perfect Instagram filter; they hide flaws and make the stone look as amazing as possible. This fancy cut is amazing because it was designed to maximize a square stone’s true brilliance. One thing to note however, the market is flooded with subpar radiant cut diamonds. Thus, if you have your heart set on one, it is best to go to a reputable jewelry store or brand to find the stone of your dreams.
There you have it. A brief look into the most popular fancy shapes on the market. What a lucky time to be alive because never have there been so many options to choose from when selecting your engagement ring!
