Celebrity engagements have caught the attention of the world for as long as we can remember. We are over halfway through 2022 and there have been some great rings displayed. Let’s take a look at some of our faves so far.
The reality is that not every engagement ends in a marriage, especially when under the scrutiny of an endless media presence. Even then, the glimpse of the moment of “yes” is great. At that moment they are intended, they feel confident and comfortable in their love and happiness. Those “yes moments” are hope and joy embodied, and those sentiments can be contagious.
Classic beauty meets romantic sentimentality. This is a winner by all standards. Celebrity or not, this is gorgeous!
Condor’s ring is an oval center diamond set in yellow gold with pear-shaped and round brilliant side diamonds. It was designed by Chau Lui, the co-owner of Vietnamese Canadian brand Paris Jewellers.
“He worked with this Vietnamese family-owned jeweler from Canada—Paris Jewelers—to make it, and he knows how important my heritage is to me,” she said. “And he knows that paying it forward means a lot to me as well. And so, he worked with these beautiful ladies there, and I’m so happy. I can’t believe it.” Lana reported on a visit to The Tonight Show.
Michelle Oh, designed the celebrity engagement ring per Bonnie Chance’s parameters.
“Bonnie told me that she wanted to create the most special ring possible. Something that was kind of vintage inspired in aesthetic and really one of a kind, like a rare flower in bloom 💐
The back and the inside of the ring is just as beautiful as the outside, and we were also able to incorporate a very sentimental little diamond to the inside of the ring which used to feature on Bonnie’s mum’s ring ♥️ it’s details like these that make a ring” – From Michelle Oh’s Instagram.
This is uniquely them and that’s a fantastic touch.
This celebrity style is a fresh take on an engagement ring, without going too far off the path. Some will call this east-west set diamond an oval, some will call it an elongated oval, and some will even call it a “moval.” Moval is the portmanteau of marquise and oval, having features of both. Terms like elongated oval and/or moval are somewhat controversial in the jewelry community, but as descriptors they fit the bill.
PriceScope Educational Advisor, John Pollard had this to say: “One of the main concerns with marquise and ovals is the frequent presence of a “bow-tie”, which is a long band of darkness across the stone which appears when viewed closely. The faceting design used for this “moval” minimizes the bow-tiw effect and exaggerates transparency. It’s a unique look.”
This ring, no matter what you call the cut, is stunning. It’s not a look that you see every day, and the designers at Mociun did a spectacular job with it!
Have there been more celebrity rings that we loved? Yes, of course! These are three that caught our eye and held our attention. That said, we are jewelry lovers, and the next piece will arrive on the scene imminently.
Do you have a really cool engagement ring? We would love to see pics in the comments section below!
