Dubbed “An Explosion of Colours,” Sotheby’s Hong Kong Magnificent Jewels and Jadeite Spring Sale highlights fancy vivid blue and pink diamonds. On April 3, 2012, an 8.01-carat emerald-cut fancy vivid blue diamond will lead Sotheby’s sale. The blue diamond ring is expected to fetch between $11.5 and $14 million and is considered the largest emerald-cut vivid blue to appear at auction for several years.
The sale also includes two pear-shaped fancy vivid pink diamond rings of 3.28 and 5.03 carats and a notable 5.00-carat double rose-cut fancy vivid blue diamond ring.

The 5.03-carat pear-shaped fancy vivid pink diamond ring is expected to fetch between $5.4 and $6.7 million. The 8.01-carat fancy vivid blue diamond ring will lead Sotheby’s sale on April 3, 2012. The blue diamond ring has a selling estimate of $11.5-14 million.

While it is more common to see rose-cut colorless diamonds, fancy color rose-cuts are increasing in popularity. This 5.00-carat double rose-cut fancy vivid blue diamond ring expected to fetch between $4 and $4.5 million.
