These lovelies were mostly found on the search for trannies to go in a 5-stone, but we all know eBay is full of surprises... Measurements are my own (with digital calipers & mg scale) except for the already-set ring.

0.315ct H/I SI1 OEC, antique Pt OEC ring est 0.37ct center, 14k WG antique illusion setting (setting only) for 4.2-4.4mm stone, and a "sleepy" 0.57ct est D/E/F I2 RB for your long-dreamt-of diamond keychain. Each item gets its own post, here they come!

0.315ct OEC, est H/I SI1, 4.10 x 4.22mm. Faces quite white, pretty facet pattern, high crown, slightly larger table than typical OEC. Does have a small culet! Inclusion is a carbon spot off the table, which I couldn't see without a loupe (and can barely find with a loupe!) but is circled for you down below. It didn't make the cut for my 5-stone because it was noticeably smaller than the others, but that's no reason for it not to find a loving home! Would make a stunning delicate DBTY-style solitaire pendant. Asking $350.

It's the diamond by itself on the far right -- that's how I estimated its color, just in context with the others that are going into the 5-stone.

(Poor thing. I hate to highlight its birthmark like that. Even with my 32-year-old eyes, I can't see it face-up except louped with a zoom camera lens. I only realized it was there looking at the stone on white paper, pavilion-up, where it's easier to see!) The inclusion is at about 5 o'clock on the top photo.

Antique Pt ring, 0.36ct (est) center stone + 0.11-0.13cttw sidestones. Center was sold to me as "G/H"/SI1, but I think it's warmer, probably J/K/L, though it faces white. I'm going to give it an SI2 because there is some loupe-visible schmutzy little stuff in there which I don't *think* is dirt, mostly by the prongs. No carbon that I can see. Definitely nothing that jumps out, and clean under the table! Measures 4.45 x 4.46mm. Sidestones are single-cut.

The eBay listing estimated it at 1920s-1930s, and I think it's had the prongs retipped but otherwise I would suspect the stones are all original to the setting. Per the listing, acid-tested platinum though there are no markings inside the ring. Weighs 1.88g. Size 8 and should be easily sized +/- 2 sizes, maybe more, since the shank is quite plain. Asking $500.

Cute and substantial illusion setting (setting only!) for 4.2-4.4mm stone, sits in a faux fishtail-prong illusion head that measures 6.5 x 6.5mm, flanked by two lively white single-cut diamonds approx 2mm diameter each. VERY cute "two lovebirds" design (I'm not sure if this is what its artist intended, but that's what I see!) on the basket! Marked 14k on the shank.

There are some dings to the outside of the basket (best seen in the last photo) and it will need the prongs rebuilt, but it is a strong and protective setting for a special petite stone that deserves to be worn! I've popped the too-small OEC listed above into the setting, loose, just to give you an idea of what it looks like... will be even nicer with one that fits. :) Size 8 or perhaps a little under (7.75+), weighs 2.34g. Asking $150.

(Dings best visible here; there are some on the other side too, but aren't the birds cute?)

There's a certain appeal to the "sleepy" colored stone -- holds its color even in low light environments, always looks bright. Sure, you trade some of the sparkle and flash, but it's almost a different species entirely. That's how I feel about this RB! Faces up WHITE-white, like D/E/F, and has an "always-on" glow about it that I don't usually associate with diamonds. 0.57 ct, 5.25 x 5.33mm.

Could this be Yssie's Very Ugly Diamond's spiritual RB twin? It, too, has a variety of inclusions that include both carbon and clouds: solidly an I2. img_3152_copy.jpg

I wish I'd thought to get it in the line-up with the other 5-stone stones, just for color comparisons, but pavilion-up on a white background I just can't see any color.

Even sleepy, it still sparkles and picks up local color!

On an olive-green tablecloth, it just pops - this is what I see most of the time.

Asking $175.

I have no place even reading your listings, Evergreen, but having done so, I have to say they really make me want to buy from you. You seem so knowledgeable, honest and forthcoming with full disclosure on all your items. Excellent posts and I hope people flock to your listings and buy. :))

Just out of curiosity, what is the maximum mm size the center stone might fit (without changing out the head) on your platinum setting? I have been looking for an art deco style tapered ring like that for a while and the only downside to that one is that it might just be too small across the board, if you know what I mean. That is, if it were on steroids with the side diamonds a bit bigger it would be perfect. [ahem, err, cough cough, perfect for what I don't need, of course, cough, cough, nervous clearing of throat...]

Gee, Minous, thanks. ::) You know how it is -- we're all knowledgeable enough on here in Preloved to know what we want to buy, and there's no point in my beating around the bush about what I have. Plus, being shifty on here means you're hurting your (online) friends -- I'm not trying to dump stuff, just help it to a better & more appreciative home. (Um, and save up for my next LT/DB buy. :) Or, really, dissipate some of the guilt around my in-production tranny 5-stone. "See, DH, I like buying myself new things but I promise I'm not hoarding!" )

I remeasured the stone in the Pt ring and it is really just a hair under 4.5mm, for sure. The cross-pieces in the head, just below the stone's girdle, will keep you from widening the prongs out much more than that assuming you don't want to build up the prongs and set the stone higher. See the way the prongs come almost straight up from the finger, without angling out very much? Even building up the prongs probably wouldn't get you much more size. If you were willing to do some major revamping work, i.e. remove the cross-pieces and spread the prongs a little, you might manage another mm in diameter but I'd be worried about the structural integrity.

Maybe with water & sunlight it'll grow a little! ;) But as much as I want to enable you in your quest :Up_to_something: , I don't think this is the one.

Re: 0.32c OEC, 0.37c OEC ring, 14k illusion setting, sleepy

I am on the fence about the .57 as I think it might match one I have for studs but not sure if the carbon would show too much

Re: 0.32c OEC, 0.37c OEC ring, 14k illusion setting, sleepy

Autumn, I can try to take a video of the stone tonight or tomorrow AM to help you see the clarity in perspective -- would that help?
