Beautiful 0.89ct Q-R/VS Old European Cut diamond for sale!

Recently purchased from PSer fortekitty (well-known for her antique diamond savvy), this OEC is gorgeous and crisp and clean, with a lovely light yellow tint - very attractive facet pattern, small table, high crown - I just have too many right-hand ring projects currently pending and scheduled out to mid-next-year so must let go of this lovely OEC.

Will you ship to Canada?

Will you ship to Canada?

Hi ElleTO :wavey:

Per U.S. Postal Service & Canada postal restrictions, I would only be permitted to ship the loose diamond via U.S. Postal Service First Class International Registered Mail, which has an insurance limit of $42.27. Unfortunately, shipping loose diamonds and gemstones is strictly prohibited from being shipped via USPS Priority Mail to Canada. https://pe.usps.com/text/imm/ce_003.htm#ep6216933

And while FedEx & UPS are international shipping options for jewelry vendors who have their own insurance coverage to cover their goods during shipment, as a private individual I don't have that kind of coverage.

If you were going to have an American vendor set the diamond, I could send it to you care of the American vendor and they could always ship it to you if you wanted to see it prior to setting.

Or, if you can think of another way for me to ship it to you insured, I am open to ideas.

I've never had issues shipping to Canada via registered mail but I've only mailed stones worth less than $250. But if you are willing to bear the risk of loss, I am willing to ship the diamond to you in Canada via USPS First Class International Registered Mail.

It is so frustrating that there are no viable international shipping options with full insurance coverage ... darn it.

I really appreciate the thoughtful reply. I might indeed have it set by a vendor in the US, but I think by the time I worked out those details the stone may be gone. Nevertheless, let me think about it. Also my brother lives in the US, so that's an option as long as I can stand waiting a few months to get it from him.

@EllieTO,
This morning I thought of another option - I could send the loose diamond to GIA for a diamond report, and then have GIA ship it directly to you (which they can do insured). As of today, the turnaround time for GIA (Carlsbad lab) to receive, grade and ship out a sub-carat diamond is one week. I would be willing to split the cost of the GIA report (which is either apx $80 for full GIA or apx 50 for GIA Dossier, if I am recalling correctly ... plus shipping the stone to GIA and for GIA to ship the stone to you).

No pressure, just wanted to put it out there for you (and anyone else who may be located outside the US) as a possibility.

Ooo. I really hope it goes to a PS person who put it in yellow gold. And shares lots and lots of pictures. ;)2
