Hello Everyone,
I wanted some opinions about diamond studs! I am looking to purchase some for Christmas, and need your help! I am trying to decide between a 1.00ct pair and a .75ct pair of diamond studs. The quality is a tad better on the .75's. My question is, is there a big difference in the size on the ear? What would you do?
Thank you kindly! Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!

I think you may see the difference in your ear. Generally, most PSers don't go for tip top quality on earring because no one is going to see a VVS clarity on your ear. Cut is what we don't compromise on because that impacts sparkle. My personal sweet spot for earrings is H/I/J SI1/2.

Since I don't know if you're talking .75-1.0 total weight or per ear, these may be totally out of range, but I thought I'd post them anyway, as they are gorgeous!

I have .43 and .44 in each ear and they are perfect for me, but I wouldn't mind larger.... :wink2:

I'd suggest, if you can afford it, go for the larger ones. In terms of high colour and clarity - most don't find it necessary for earrings as people don't 'inspect' earrings as closely as they may a ring or a pendant. At least --- not people you don't know VERY well :naughty:

"Go big or go home", as the saying goes!! (provided its within your budget..)

Thank you for replying! Those are so beautiful but out of my price range for right now :) I was speaking total carat weight on the studs. the .75 is G/H SI2 and the 1.00 G/H I1. I agree about the cut, I don't compromise on that one bit!

Let us know your specs/budget and the PS super sleuths can find something for you! BTW, have you thought about going down to I color for studs? I think you can find great deals if you do so--I love my I colored studs (they're very bright due to the cut)! I would suggest you go w/ a company that has a good upgrade policy, too!

Here's a few for example:

Those were my thoughts since they are not for a ring or pendant. I just want them to be nice and look beautiful. I always tell my husband "go big or go home"...I get a kick out of it everytime!

I found some for around $400-800. I felt like those were good prices? I do not own a pair, crazy I know...but I'm getting them for my Mom for Christmas :). She'll be surprised I hope!

Ooooooohhhh I guess I could go down to I and then up in carat weight? I know they are very good cut...

I would definitely recommend WF because I have found that the better the cut, the larger the stones appear on the ear because they truly have edge to edge brightness. Their pre-set studs are a nice balance if cut, color, and clarity. But if you ever want to upgrade, you have to buy individual stones to be able to trade them in.
