Hi everyone. I've decided to post my 1.09 old european cut diamond engagement ring since she just isn't getting the love at home. I wear Aurora all the time! I would set her as a pendant if I hadn't recently set my grandmother's diamond in a pendant; there is no convincing DH that I need two of the same size diamond pendants, and well, I can't sell my grandmother's diamond.
The diamond is not certified, but when I sent her off to Grace at JbEG (I had thought to match her for earrings but matched a different stone instead) Grace weighed her and estimated her at a GIA O-P color and at least VS2 clarity. I agree with the O-P designation; I think she has just a touch more color than my GIA "N" diamond. The diamond sold was originally sold to me as VVS clarity and she really is clear and lovely, with a nice high crown and small table. She has crisp, sparkly facets.
I originally bought the diamond set in a Stuller illusion setting, but I scrapped that and set her into a vintage two tone 14K mounting instead. The head and prongs are white gold and the shank is yellow gold. I had the prongs rebuilt by my local jeweler, and also had the lower half of the shank rebuilt/replaced as it was very thin and unsafe to wear. It is currently a size 6 and can be sized within reason.
Asking $2700, Paypal only, USPS Priority Overnight shipping.
