Well, she "did" say yes... at one time,

So I now have for sale, a custom diamond solitaire engagement ring and matching wedding band after my fiancée and I decided that we would be happiest remaining good friends.

These two rings are unworn, and were completed by the ring maker just after we made the decision to remain friends, so they have been in a safety deposit box since we picked them up.

After designing and making a couple of rings in the past, and because we couldn't find quite what we were looking for in the stores, I personally designed this modern and fundamental engagement ring to be slightly oversized and to correspond with some of the larger, atypical jewelry and other rings that are generally worn by my girlfriend and a lot of women today.

This idea was transferred to 3D jewelry software by a designer and jewelry maker, then cast by him in palladium. I'll try to include the CAD renderings. Both rings are size 5.25, and are completed in a glass bead blasted matte finish with a polished setting. Applying a high gloss polish to the band would be a simple alteration. The matching wedding band contains 5 G-H VS1-2 diamonds, for .20C total weight, and was also intended to look stunning when worn alone for some of those more active endeavors, travel, or where a bigger rock may not be such a good idea.

The diamond specifications of this 1.29 round brilliant are shown on the attached GIA certificate, and please run the numbers through the Holloway Cut Advisor to see how ideal the cut and sparkle is. I spent a lot of time looking, and this VS2 diamond is very clean. There is supposedly a fine needle on the edge of the table, but I was unable to see it under microscope, let alone under a loop.

A local reputable jewelry and diamond appraisal has the value of the engagement ring at $15,600, and the matching wedding band at $1,500. This is consistent with what was paid for the diamonds, palladium, design and manufacturing services of both. As much as I love this ring and the end result of all of the work that was put into it, for obvious sentimental reasons, it simply does not have the same value now that it won't be worn by the individual that I had in mind for it. I am not considering the above numbers as an asking price, they are simply an idea of what went into creating it, making this a considerable value for the right person/couple looking for an exceptional one of a kind engagement ring and wedding band. Reasonable offers considered, and I'm located in the Portland, OR area if that makes things more convenient for anyone nearby. Please let me know if there are questions that you might have.

Congratulations on your need for a ring like this, happy searching!
Bob

Hi Bob, you have to make a listing on another website and then post the link here. Most seem to use Loupe Troop as it's free - you can also list your set on Diamondbistro but you're charged a small fee. Some use ebay but again there are fees.

Hope this helps and good luck with your sale!

Hi and Thanks Junebug,

Yeah, this is my first go at posting this here, so I'm sure I'll need to learn a few things like that.
Thank you for the info, and we'll check out that link you mentioned.
Thanks for looking and the help, -bob
