1.56 ct J VVS2 RB on yellow gold 3 stone band - side stones are Gs (0.2ct). Should I switch to this one?

Hi everyone! I Currently have a 1.56ct J VVS2 that looks great and has awesome fire under direct light (albeit gets dark which I know is normal with a good cut). Spoke with a few jewelers and they told me it looks superb.

That said, the side stones are Gs (0.2ct) on a yellow gold band. Under indirect light, they all look the same color from the top. Should I keep it or pivot to a better color grade like this one: https://www.stonealgo.com/diamond-details/gia-number-2506120250

FWIW, I paid sub $7,500 USD all in cause of a friends and family discount.

Here is the current diamond: https://www.gia.edu/report-check?reportno=2467440326&locale=en_US

I am hoping I landed on a great one for the value and won't need to return it for the one above, but if it's obvious then I will.

Other alternatives, but these all have crown angles of 36:

while the proprtions 3 x Ex look great on paper.... the execution/ cut precision isn't very good (1.56ct J VVS2)

Thanks for this info - so the 1.45ct one is better as it relates to cut?

The 1.45ct one will most likely be about $500 more.

Agreed. I like the cut on the 1.45 better.

yes the I 1.45 is better...the price is pretty good @ b2C - will your jeweler match ???

They don't price match on natural stones unfortunately... but they also don't charge for side stones on settings where b2c does charge for side stones - I'll inquire what the overall spend is with b2c - great find freddyboston!

This makes me wonder if my 1.56ct was on b2c and if I could have price matched...

unsure but Stonealgo tracks the price of specific stones (if they are listed on one of their linked/affiliate vendor(s) - its weird the 1.56ct J was $ 5,714 through early October and then on 10/12 someone spiked it up 10k ??

Interesting.. I purchased it on 10/9... might have to sell it and double my money ... kidding it's most likely depreciated since I opened the box.

Ok I will go visit the 1.45 (or something similar) today and see the differences. Thank you!!!

UPDATE: I met w the jeweler to discuss both and he told me not to switch (he was the jeweler actually selling the I VS2). I showed him the J VVS2 under 60x and he loved it (took awhile to find the inclusions, even with 2 other different local jewelers). As much as the I VS2 is cut better, the inclusions are slightly worrisome despite being a VS2, and the J VVS2 also has a decent cut (not as good though), and a great brilliance and fire according to them.

Inclusions are not really the problem... the issue is the J is a badly cut diamond. They should have been using an ASET/ Ideal-Scope -

the cutter can hit the right % proportions (they are averages) but to save ct weight they "cheat" on the precision....

The VVS stone isn't well cut. I would really really switch to a better cut.
