After a lot of obsessing I saw this diamond in person today and just love it! 2.9 carat circular brilliant/transitional k color vs2. Faces up very white for color. Super spready (9.4mm). I’m still nervous about pulling the trigger- it’s $18,750. Would love to hear opinions!

Also thoughts on a setting?15F10241-F488-44B9-97FE-4665135ADDCC.jpeg1A9CD215-FBB7-46F6-AD55-E632496BAB91.jpeg5D1F9F6D-4926-41B4-A0C9-BD38ABE1A6F7.jpeg

i think it's gorgeous!

This needs to be moved to the Rocky talk forum since you are asking about a stone...I'll ask that it get moved here:

In the meantime, does it have paperwork? GIA? Please post a copy of it.

Thanks! I don’t know the rules here. ADBEC5F4-F7D2-4ABE-AAF5-D33530F36B8F.jpeg

Oh my gosh yes! Gorgeous! I think the price is very fair. How to set it? So many options. Do you like antique style settings?

As long as they’re not too ornate I do!

I loooooove it

Absolutely gorgeous!

First question... Why isn't the CUT GRADE on the GIA certificate? This would be a 'red flag' to me. Any professionals out there have some thoughts on it???

Also, having broken a diamond before, I have since then stayed away from "thin" girdles unless set with a halo of bezel to protect it.

Good point on the thin girdle! For the cut grade, circular brilliants do not get a cut grade.

Good info. What's the difference between a "circular" brilliant and a "round" one?

I’m definitely not the expert but a circular brilliant is more similar to an old euro, made in the transition between old euro cuts and modern round brilliants. They were cut by hand and have larger facets. I liked it more than the old euro ones I saw because I don’t like a big culet.

Ah, yes! Now I remember. Thank you! I appreciate the response.

Looks very pretty! Can you upload a vid?

The price seems quite fair.

I like the look of it too...make sure it doesn't go dark in the center too much. Looks like it's probably fine but something to check.

As far as the setting goes, it does have a partially "very thin" girdle. If it were me, I would probably put it in something that protects
the girdle (bezel or fake bezel with prongs), or something with a lot of prongs (8 or more).

Gorgeous facet pattern. I love k colour - my sweet spot for old cuts. This is close to my wish stone if it was only a carat bigger!

It’s gorgeous!!! You are just under the 3ct mark (so you avoid the 3 caret jump), a Transitional, AND A K …. It’s like chocolate and peanut butter! I LOOOOOOVE IT!!! :kiss2:

Oh, and that price! What a lucky find!

With the girdle, I would do an 8 prong setting or something with a bezel! I love Erika Winters, CVB, even a simple setting like a Vatche U113 would be gorgeous!

HI:

Looks like 10 carats on your gorgeous hands! (10 carats for 10 years--perfect)

cheers--Sharon

Wow, that’s a K? It’s gorgeous.

I think it’s lovely. I’d put it in 8 prongs to protect the girdle for sure. That is also a really good price!
