Sold 14k vintage Amethyst heart pendant - double-rose cut

Do you know any Covid19 heroes? Anyone who pulls the family together for safety, calms the troubled minds of people around them, cleans up the tears and sniffles of frustrated children, sews masks, or rescues animals at the most inopportune moments? Would you say that a hero is someone who has earned a Purple Heart?


I'm sorry to say I never wore this despite falling head over heels in love with it on first glance. Maybe someone else out there will enjoy this beauty - and while I'm at it, please allow me to thank them for their service to humankind.


Genuine amethyst, lavender "Rose de France" color, and double-rose-cut so it shimmers no matter which side faces out. I had considered having the front bezel given a fine milgrain finish but it's quite refined just as it is. This is the exact same pendant shown on Danielle Mielle's Gem Gossip blog, seen here:

Just the pendant - I wish I could sell the chain but it was my great-grandmother's so it's a keeper. However I see paperclip chains all the time on instagram - some are well priced and if I find one that looks similar I'll link you.

When she was 13 she became quite ill. We could not find out answers as to what was wrong. We were blessed to be sent to a doctor here in our hometown who had done his Fellowship at Mayo. While what he suspected she had did not fall under the umbrella of what he treats he sent us back to our family doctor. From there I wrote a letter to Mayo and thank you God they accepted her. She was diagnosed 3 years ago. In that time she went from doing dance, something she did 4 nights a week and had done since she was 3 to not being able to dance at all. All of her friends have left her behind since she can not keep up and do what they do. It has broken her heart and yet she keeps on. She has lost a lot. Mostly the control of having her body do what she would like it to do. When we went to Mayo the doctors could not believe she was still in school. Many kids miss quarters, semesters, and years of school. Elizabeth has continued to not only make it to school most of the time, she has a 4.0 gpa and takes accelerated classes. I have no idea how she does it. We are so fortunate she was diagnosed 6 months after she became ill. So many people wait years for a diagnosis. She is my only daughter She is a gift and I love her with all my heart and soul. She has a heart of gold and now a heart of purple too. I don't know what I did to deserve to be her mom, but I know I am beyond blessed to be called mom by her. So please know PreRaphaelite that your beautiful heart will be worn by someone who is a hero, at least to me. Thank you so very much!

Thank you Joelly, PreRaphaelite, and amti! Your kind words touched my heart! Elizabeth and I have been self isolating do to her condition and my recent diagnosis of Rheumatoid arthritis. In these extremely trying times, I know we are extremely fortunate to be home together! It's been around 6 weeks and so far so good!!! We do so miss her 4 big brothers and all of the grands... Elizabeth love's being an Aunt and they love her. We look forward to the day we can all be together again and promise each other a long celebration!!! Our prayers are with all of those touched and affected by this horrible virus. Be it financial, their health, their mental health, or loss of a loved one. We also pray for all health workers , our daughter in law is a nurse and we couldn't be more proud!!! Truckers and those who continue to keep our grocery stores open. I'm sure I am forgetting others... The elderly, the children, the teachers, and the parents that have now become teachers. I am also so thankful for all of the Pricescopers!!! Thank you for the distraction, the sense of community that is always generous to all. I am grateful for all of you. Stay safe!!! So grateful that though we may have to distance ourselves it does not mean we are alone!!!!
