I went to an auction recently, with the intent of NOT buying anything, just for the learning experience. However, I went alone (lesson #1 learned) and got caught up in the moment, and ended up spending money that wasn't, ahem...in the budget. Then, after the fact, found out it's a size 8.5, and I'm a 4.5-5, so to rework it to fit me will require more money that I just don't have. So, I am listing this beautiful ring for what I paid (1750 dollars) to see if there's any interest. It comes with an appraisal dated May 31, 2010, for 5600 dollars CDN. Here are the deets:

One stamped 18KT white gold lady's cast cluster ring with a bright polish finish. Condition is new. Containing:

One bezel set oval modified mixed cut natural ruby, measuring 6.60 x 5.50 x 3.15 mm, stated weight of 0.90 ct, clarity is moderately included, type II, medium, moderately strong, slightly purplish red colour, (GIA slpR 5/4), cut is good.

Thirty gypsy set round brilliant cut diamonds measuring 1.90 - 1.60 x 1.15 (depth set.), stated total weight of 30 stones = 0.84ct. Clarity I-1 (sparkle is decent), colour J-L (they look white), Cut is Good.

Total weight of ring 4.90 gm

No lab report on the ruby, unfortunately, but I'd be happy to discuss the possibility of sending the ring somewhere if the stone could be verified while mounted?

My jeweller said I could not have made this ring for this price, so I'm hoping it's a fair asking price.

Happy to answer any questions!

It is certainly a gorgeous ring - I was surprised that you said you were selling it until I realized that the size difference was SO large... :blackeye:

Thanks, Minou. I just realized I wrote that it's a size 8.5, but it's actually 8.75.

You know how much I love this ring, and how sad I am I can't take the beautiful baby off your hands. Good luck with the sale!

Very pretty but too big for me. Somebody will be lucky to have it, though.

Thanks, Mico and Mary!
