18k vs 14k rose gold for an eternity ring?

Any thoughts on 14k vs 18k rose gold for an eternity ring? I was hoping to get one made in 14k because pictures where I have seen the two compared the 14k looks pinker. Any thoughts?

Also what is the normal price difference between the two?
I emailed BGD about whether they could make their Kyla ring in 14k rose gold. (It’s the eternity band with nine .06 and eighteen .035 diamonds in a 1-2-1-2-1-2 pattern.) They said yes but quoted me a price of $2475 for a size 5.25 ring. On their website it currently has the 18k yelllow gold version selling for $2350 (up to size 6). When I asked about the price difference they said that they are in the process of updating their prices and that the 18k Kyla would be $2500. Has anyone had this happen before? A few days later they sent a follow up email saying they could honor the $2350 price. That also left me confused as that was for 18k yellow gold and I was asking about 14 k rose gold. Is this normal? I have seen a lot of positive reviews of BGD here so I just wanted to check because I’m not a very experienced buyer.

Ask them if it means they will honor their price of $whatever it is currently on the website for the 14k rose gold?

I'm not sure what you are asking is normal? A price change? Yes, gold is going up. To me, it's not normal to tell
people the price is higher than what they have displayed on their website. They need to update their website
first IMO but businesses can choose to do it however they want. If I didn't like the "feelings" I got from the whole
situation then I would choose to go with someone else. However, if only they could do the design the way I wanted
it and we are talking $150ish, right, then I would go ahead and use them. I, in no way, think they are trying to
pull one over you if that's what you're asking. I think it was unfortunate timing.

Okay thank you. That helps!

So if you want the ring to have a pinker tone it is better to go with 18k?

No. If you want it pinker you want 14kt.
If you want a yellower color, go with 18kt rose gold.

Personally, while I prefer a higher karat gold for important pieces, I stopped buying 18kt rose gold because it's too yellow for me.

The pics on this page might help visualize color differences

Thanks for this! I went poking around to internet to see if there was more like this and found the image in this link helpful as well. They described 18 k rose gold as more peach and 14 k rose gold as more pink which seems pretty accurate to the picture. https://coreyegan.com/blogs/blog/precious-metals-comparison

Thanks-- that makes sense.
