Thank you so much! I know that it is going to be a tough size to sell. If I can't sell it on LT I'll try ebay or maybe just find a friend who wears a 10 (I'll have to ask around). It really is a very pretty ring!
 
It's gorgeous. Someone could consider it for a right hand middle-finger ring too :read: It would likely fit more people that way!

A really good buy considering die struck is a rarity these days and this one has a lot of really fine detail.
 
Any idea how much the refurb might be?
 
I don't know really; I didn't take the ring into VC to ask. I was quoted $225 per ring on the set I am selling, but this ring is more worn, bigger, and the design goes all the way around. For someone that this ring fits I think even double that quote makes it a good deal.

But in a size 10 it would be a special order and cost more to make (6 diamonds instead of 5, more gold) plus Paul at VC said the prices would go up this year.

I'm open to trades. And really, it is a lovely band even in its current, vintage condition. I wish it fit me!

Add me to the chorus of people eyeballing this wistfully. It's enough to make me wish VC could modify it into ... earrings, say. SO PRETTY!

P.S. - You are like a black-belt at finding the cool vintage pieces! I've been searching for a VC band in my size for years without so much as a nibble, and you found TWO! If you give lessons, put me first in line. :naughty:

It was pointed out to me that I should trade for something that I'll love and wear, so that limits it some. I'll consider engraved 14/8K YG wedding bands (with or without diamonds) in a 6.5 - 7.25, diamond studs or lever backs, other gemstone studs, 14/18K YG eternity bands (again, 6.5 - 7.25), loose OEC stones.

What I'm offering is an incredible bargain as I'm not trying to make a penny on it even though I bought it for a lot less than a used VC band would go for (the seller didn't identify it as VC even though they had sold other VC bands), so I would hope anything offered in trade wouldn't have a premium added to it.

Hmmm... DH just bought something for his Jeep... This is my opportunity!!!

But I need to ask how much it would be to refurbish the ring. It looks like a lot of details have been rubbed off compared to the new comp.

I'm planning to go to Van Craeynest this morning and will take the band with me and ask about the cost to rehab it (if my favorite employee is there - I'm not going to ask the owner). It really is lovely just as it is though, so I think you'll be happy wearing it if you have to wait to do the rehab.

If you are happy with the price of the rehab and want to do it immediately I can raise my price to reflect the rehab and have VC get started on it, and then ship it to you after it's finished.

Let me take some photos with my macro lens and update the listing. The detail really is great in the vintage state.

I just took a look at the photo I attached when I posted this; the difference between the phone photo and the macro is astonishing! I really don't think I'd even pay to have it rehabbed because it is just going to wear again anyway. I decided to keep the engagement ring I had listed to use as a mounting for a colored stone and I'm not going to rehab it either; it's really gorgeous the way it is now.

I'm sorry, I wasn't able to consult with the VC bench on the price of rehabbing the band, and I'm not going to be able to handle the rehab. We're in the middle of a situation with this jeweler (not over anything related to VC) and for now I'm not giving them anymore work, not until we get this other mess figured out.
 
Price Reduced to $375!!!

Suggestions have been made that this band could be repurposed into small one-of-a-kind hoop earrings or worn as a pendant. Someone contacted VC about having it sized down (something I am still considering but by a different jeweler) and was referred to their local VC dealer, so I would say that the VC factory isn't interested in taking on that job, although to the best of my knowledge they still do rehab work.
