2.80cts (approx 8mm) Rhodolite Garnet in Antique-style 14k White Gold Mounting
This is a stunning ring! My pics do not do it justice. I have waffled on selling it for 3 years despite having only worn it two times! It is simply too big in terms of ring size and also finger coverage/presence. I anticipate it would be easier to size it slightly up than down due to the shape and contours of the ring, but cannot be sure.
Per the jeweler, the 3-sided pave sidestones are approx .25ctw, H/I color and SI1/SI2 clarity. They are very bright and white. The mounting itself is well sculpted with fine milgrain edging, a very slight split shank, beautiful crown-like basket and prongs, cross-hatch under gallery, and scroll engraving down the Euro shank. The corners of the Euro shank are highlighted with diamonds, though there is one diamond missing (see pics) which cannot be seen when worn.
A couple prongs are not perfectly uniform in thickness, but it really takes some looking to notice. I am a perfectionist and am particular about these sorts of things. I had the ring checked by a GIA/AGS member jeweler and was told the garnet is very secure, and they recommended against any sort of repair since the slight imperfection does not detract from the beauty or security of the ring.
