I was looking at a 2.5 carat yellow cushion diamond at Benzdiamonds online. I read that clarity enhanced diamonds are not recommended. They were asking $7500. Question: are clarity enhanced diamonds good or bad?? Where would you recommend I shop online for the type of ring I'm looking for? Don't want to get ripped off.

good or bad is in the eye/wallet of the beholder imho. i think people shy away from them b/c they retain even less value than your typical diamond and b/c the thing people value about earth-mined diamonds is that they are produced by nature. so that makes them more comparable to buying a lab-made or heat treated stone. $7500 seems like a lot to me, but maybe someone else has a better idea of how much it should cost. i remember seeing a clarity enhanced 2ct round for something like 3500 but that may have been pre-loved.

I agree - seems spendy. Maybe look at B2C Jewels, Blue Nile, and James Allen to see what they’re selling yellow cushions for?

Hi Brian,
Welcome to Pricescope!
The term " Yellow Diamond" is extremely general.
Like saying "fast car".
So are we looking at a Porsche or a Toyota?
For purposes of shopping, you'll need to have a GIA report ( accept nothing less)
Once we know the grade, we can give you a better analysis.

In general: $7500 is a relatively low price for a 2 carat diamond.

I'm confused. Are you looking for a clarity enhanced yellow diamond or white diamond? $7.5 K seems very very low for a 2ct yellow. I'm not sure I can recommend buying a clarity enhanced diamond. If you're going to go that route then just by a lab diamond--at least you won't have any real flaws with it.
