I would pass on that stone. We can help find a better stone. What are your desired specs and budget? Are you open to vendors other than JA?

Interesting-Diamondscreener puts this stone outside of even GIA xxx

I’m not a mrb expert. I’m interested to see what the experts think about this stone…

Can I ask why? I'm open to any vendor. My ideal diamond would be 2.2+ carat round, excellent cut / proportions, VS1 or above, H color or above and less than $25K. I would prefer to sacrifice on color to save $$

We tend to recommend stones with crown angles of 34-35. 36.5 is far out of that range and too high for the 40.8 pavilion angle.

Take a look at these alternatives.

Kim N is one of the experts that I was hoping would chime in!

Thank you, Kim! This is a huge help!

If the stone were placed on a 4-prong 18 carat gold setting, should I be concerned about the H color and yellow tint? Thanks again!

H color is a happy medium for a lot of people. I wouldn't be concerned with a GIA/AGS H.

I personally like warmer stones, and H in yellow gold could look lovely. Color sensitivity and preference are so personal.

But I'm crossing fingers that you pick a better cut stone.

I found some other possibilities at Ritani, but check other sites for availability and pricing.

Found a couple of ACAs

Be sure to put it on hold while you're still thinking about it, as there are lots of lurkers around.

I bought it :mrgreen2:. Thanks everyone (especially Kim) for weighing in! Once it arrives, I'll take a look with an ideal scope to triple check everything looks great.

I believe the first Ritani link was the one I decided on. Thanks, Deja!
