It is on consignment with Jewels By Grace. I am open to offers and eager to sell as I have my heart set on something else and I can't have both.

This would make a lovely engagement ring! Bumpity bump! :wavey:

I need to sell this so badly. Just got orders of a cross country military move!

So gorgeous! I saw it in Grace's IG feed. It makes a simply spectacular ring, the setting is seriously perfection.

We are a military family, so I know how that goes! You probably know this, but I'm just throwing it out there, that we always make a few bucks on cross country moves by doing partial or full DITY's. A lot of miles makes it worth our effort, vs. just a shorter move. I have even hired my own movers to load the uhaul, since I have kids, and we just caravan with radios and the like, and come out ahead by a happy smile amount. :wavey:

This is a MAJOR ring and sooo pretty! Hope you sell soon! :wavey:

Thanks appacherose! With 2 kids, 2 cats and a dog and 2 cars I have zero stamina to DITY lol.

Honestly I wish I could just keep it. But that would mean selling my brand new asscher which was so hard to find. Siiiiigh.

Ugh, I know... moving is sooo stressful. I wish you could keep them both. They are each seriously rare and epic gems in their own rights. I mean, wow, epic. This marquise makes for a perfect alternate ring in that it is stunning and gorgeous, but too big for buckling car seats, if that is the stage you are in with kiddos. Methinks I could definitely get addicted to all that sparkle on my finger.

Good luck with the move and the diamond sale!

Thanks apache! We are in car seat mode so you are right about the size. The sparkle is insane but I never take off my ering so I need something practical.

We PCS cross country in 6 weeks ahh!

They've cracked down on DITY moves the last few years, so it's no longer a money maker. You can get your estimated moving expenses ahead of time if you need the money to move.

I love your marquise. We're also a military family. My husband has been in for 20 years and is a flipping doctor and unfortunately there is no way I could afford it. But I would buy it in a heartbeat if I had the cash.

Your use of the term 'cracking down' makes it seem like people who DITY are taking advantage of the military in some untoward way. In fact, you are merely moving your own goods and doing the work yourself for which you are legitimately reimbursed. We always move at least some portion of our things ourselves, not trusting them to movers, and we still are reimbursed for this.

Some people were taking advantage and using it to profit, and not to just pay for their move. As a career military family, we have moved a lot over the years, and it was widely known all the tricks that people would use to make money off of moves. And then the Pentagon found out and it's hard to break even on a DITY now.

We haven't decided whether to DITY, do a partial or just have the military move us. I don't quite understand how the partial works - you can chose what things you want to take and they pay you by the miles/weight? From what I understand, DITY actually saves the military money but maybe I am wrong. All I know is I have two kids under the age of 4, two cats that hate the car, and a giant beast of a dog (whom I adore). Fun times ahead lol!

:nono: So, Bee, if you are accusing us and all military families who DITY of lying and cheating that is pretty disgusting.

I don't know exactly how it works, my husband, who has a CDL, does all the things with the paperwork, and it is pretty technical. He does it the same now as he has always done it. I don't know what you could possibly do to cheat except lie? but then the technical parts of it are not my area. The transportation office is probably your ticket.

For us a partial is moving our trailer, motorcycles, and other things we don't have the movers pack. My husband will weigh the car and empty trailer before loading the weight, save the ticket, and then again after we load the motorcycles and things, and keep the weight ticket. Then at the end I think we just turn that in at the next place and they pay us for the weight times the miles we moved it. As far as I know, we are saving the military money by them not having to pay their contractors to move these things.

The longer moves we end up getting a lot more money for what feels like the same amount of work because the mileage factors in how much they pay you.

Just wanted to add- based on your weight estimate, rainbow, and the distance, you should be able to have the transportation office give you a rough idea of what they would reimburse, and you can look into costs and decide from there if it is something you could do.

Also- re: accusing people of fraud- my husband and I have caught the government contracted movers in cases of fraud over the years, surely in part because he knows our weights, and notices things like the trucks they use and looks at actual weight tickets, etc. I would never believe gossip that military families are abusing the government, vs. these government contracted movers who I have witnessed and seen defrauding with my own eyes.
