Hello!

I finally purchased my stones from GOG after much indecisiveness
1.gif
and annoying Jon with copious amount of emails
11.gif

Will post the completed ring in a couple of weeks time - I have just dropped them off at Precious Metals this morning and it will take a couple of weeks to get the ring custom made.

For now, thanks to Jon and the team at GOG for making this process wonderfully enlightening & *painless* (for me at least!) plus Chris Di Camillo & Dave Atlas at AGA (Chris is such a sweetie
2.gif
) for appraising the stones for me at such short notice.

I have had such a great experience with my first diamond purchase online - I was initially hesitant about purchasing diamonds sight unseen and was worried about the stones being lost in transit etc etc, but count me in as a convert now!

Everybody I dealt with was really prompt with their replies and the service I got was marvelous - I will not hesitate to recommend GOG & Chris at AGA to anyone looking to acquire sparklies!

Many thanks to everyone involved in helping me along with my selection process and helpful advice on the pros and cons of getting 3 new stones or matching 2 to my ering stone - Mara, Shay, Tomatoe, Valeria comes to mind - sorry if I missed anyone out!

Beautiful stones and they look great together!

I can't wait to see the finished product.

Thanks Patty!

Trust me, I can't wait to see the finished product too

My ering stone is getting made into a right hand ring with 3 beadset 0.03 pink arygle diamonds on each shoulder and that should be ready in the next few days - I'll post pics as soon as it's done.

*prances around excitedly*

Great stones, can't wait to see the finished project.
It's going to be amazing.

Ah finally!!! Simply exciting, was wondering when you'd be getting the stones! Can't wait to see pictures of both completed rings. Congratz on 3 lovely H&A's!!!!

wow congratulations JL...beautiful beautiful stones!! that is going to be a stunning ring. what is the design like again? i don't recall?

i tried on a .80c center with .40c sides in the leo setting and was in love with it for a right hand ring...so your specs are very similar (but bigger!), i will look for your finished product pictures! yummy!

Good morning!

sevens one - thank you for your kind words. i am very fortunate to have stumbled upon PriceScope and got educated about diamonds before the purchase, and with recommendations from fellow pscopers, found the most wonderful ppl to assist me in my *quest*.

tomatoe - u kept me sane throughout the process
2.gif
Who knows, you might be able to see the ring in person when I go home next
9.gif

mara, this is the design of the 3 stone ring I picked:

preciousmetals.jpg

The pic shows a 0.50ct center and 0.30ct side stones, all ideal cut. With my new knowledge, I've gone for an AGS0 .89G SI1 and ideal sides stones (.42 & .416 both G SI1). You were actually the one who suggested the .80 & .40ct combination, and I gave those specs to Jon from GOG
21.gif
and he came back from Vegas with this sparkly puppy - the rest, as they say, is history

My ering stone is not a very good cut, but I wanted to keep it for the sentimental value, so I commissioned a simple right hand ring and thought I'll add the pinks to make them look better
naughty.gif
- pink happens to be my favorite color too!

Cheers!

jadeleaves,
wow, 3 beautiful stones. that's what i call triple ideal cut. i also went the same route. bought the stone from jonathan of gog and chris from dave atlas did the apprasial for me. i would highly reccomend this combination. these two gentlemen are true top ideal cuts.----------------

Dear vtigger86,

I saw your 3 stone ring when I was in the process of selecting my stones - mine is the *mini* version
3.gif

Re: Triple Ideal Cut - I have picked the triple ideal combination for purchasing/appraising/custom making the ring too
9.gif

Jon from GOG for the stones
Chris from AGA for the appraisal
Garry Holloway's B&M, Precious Metals, for making the ring

appl.gif

Love the pink argyle! It is a saturated pink or a light pink?

I can't wait to see pictures, keep us posted!
1.gif

The pinks are either 6PP or 7PP I think - I wanted a soft pink color, which is just as well, because the intense pinks WILL break the bank
11.gif

What gorgeous stones!
3.gif
And it's so cool to see them loose and side-by-side! i can't wait to see the finished product!!

Good afternoon!!! How can you tempt me like that, you know what it's like back home, people eye your ring but never ask pertinent questions (the most common q will be how big/ many carats?) about it and there's nobody to compare & babble on about ideal-cut stones with!!!! Now that you've almost offered, you cannot deny me!!!!!
naughty.gif

*trying to regain sanity* Once again, congratz on your beautiful stones.

Heh, if we do end up going on a diamond mission in SG, I will be sure to hit you-know-who's store, Larry's and Tiffany's, of course!!!
11.gif
I'm a poor young girl, havent been in any high-end jewelery stores!!
rolleyes.gif

p/s: Haha, yeah and when they ask how much, they just wanna find out "How much the guy ended up spending". When I ask how much (which is seldom), its cos I like to know what's the market price and personal interest in diamonds.

Oh Jade, they're simply gorgeous. Yummy. I can't wait to see the final ring. I must agree about Chris. He did my appraisal. He is a fellow Dallas Cowboy fan, and we had a lot of fun yakking back and forth through the process of my ring. He actually helped my get the setting made exactly the way I wanted it. He was GREAT!!! Please tell PM to hurry so we can see it soonest. Congrats. I know you agonized, but it was worth it in the end.

Shay

Great to see the result after reading about the journey earlier! Congrats and enjoy it
1.gif

That is one beautiful ring...the setting is gorgeous!

Thanks Shay, noobie & Kim!

I got a call from PM today letting me know that my right hand ring won't be ready till next Tuesday instead of tmr as promised, but they will try and get the 3 stone ring ready by Tuesday too!!
3.gif

Tomatoe, we MUST definitely go on that mission
