***Marvelous ring under daylight***

My over six month journey wasn’t so easy as I couldn’t find huge diamond in my country. (e.g. Tiffany has nearly 70 store but largest they have is 2ct, GRAFF has 3ct D IF but price is above $300k!)
It is fortunate enough to have this marvelous oval ring at the end!!!8FB0D91F-9D15-4E56-8638-FB76A188D22C.jpeg

First of all, I would like to express my gratitude to all of PS experts who gave me valuable advice. Without @lovedogs and @tyty333, I even couldn’t find Jonathan. Yes, it was painful sometimes because they made me realized that I don’t have enough skills to identify best diamond by myself… But I truly appreciate all of honest and productive opinions on this community. It was awesome learning experiences.

As everyone recommended, Jonathan has exceptional talent to find stunning diamond from his source and wonderful person to work with. Not only diamond but also his master bench made very delicate and precise work. His deliverable is totally beyond our expectation and honor to have this luxurious oval diamond!!! So highly recommended.

***Here is my story***
It was my dream to have impactful diamond as many of executives from U.S. wear those. I always thought that I will have the one when I deserve to have it someday…
My husband kindly suggested me to upgrade ering to celebrate 10th anniversary of our relationship in return of my extensive hard works in past decade.

[Original search]
3ct D or E Oval

[Final diamond]
3.2ct G VVS1 Oval
(diamond video)

[Initial setting idea]
All platinum with micro pave 1.5mm

[Final setting]
Platinum for crown and 14k pink diamond for shank with hidden halo and micro pave 1.8mm on size5 finger

***My journey***
[Initial phase]
Looking diamond of 3ct at JA. We didn’t care brand but care diamond quality a lot. We identified some of diamonds and tried to get positive comment from SP but couldn’t have any success… I started to learn how difficult to find oval which has great light rerun, sparkles and fires.
I picked ex/ex on GIA report but those are not good enough to identity the light return.
SP experts kindly advised me to get ASET but I didn’t get any of those from JA for the diamond I picked.
Also, I created shortlist and asked several times to call reps about qualitative advice about most of those are abstract, “stunning, beautiful, good light return etc” and not technical analysis…
At the end, I fully aware that it’s better to ask professional advice especially for oval.

[Journey with Jon]
At the begging I contacted to Jon for Elyque Oval. However I put priority on face up size within the budget therefore I asked him to find diamond to meet my criteria. Even though I made back and forth communications several times, Jon always reply back sufficient information and alternative solutions. I truly enjoyed those process. All of those allowed me to set clear priorities.
Within two weeks from my first contact, he found my diamond!!!

[Design with Jon]
Jon also helped me to design the setting. To hold 3+carat we decided to go with 1.8mm instead of 1.5mm. Also we selected 14k over 18k according to his advice.
I was bit anxious about what degree of delicate job the bench master can make but Jon convinced me by leveraging his network. Within 10 days after I made bank wire, he shared CAD.
Then we decide two-toned setting.

[Delivery]
It’s international delivery with FedEx. There is custom check to pay local tax so takes time but I received smoothly thanks to Vicki.
I can tell you that I’ve never seem so beautiful diamond ring in my life except Museum…LOL
I have full confidence that my decision was right to stick on “quality”. It looks bigger than carat on the paper and catch everyone’s attention. I compare with my ering, round D VS1 but to be honest I can’t see any color difference thanks to brightness and glamorous sparkles of this oval.

My husband was also impressed by the craftsmanship with delicate works and it looks so elegant.

We truly enjoyed our wonderful journey and successful purchase even under restricted conditions due to Covid-19.

Thanks to all of you who gave me advice, it become successful upgrade!
Hope everyone could find this community before deciding their diamond to have a happy ending like us.

It was great learning process. I adore diamond more than before thanks to this forum! Yes, Jon is awesome person. I like the jeweler who try to give appropriate knowledge to their customer so that they can set clear vision. Even virtual communication, I can fully trust him to make expensive purchase of my like.

Appreciated it!!! In my country .2 to .4 is average. Luckily I can speak English and I don’t care so much just “brand” but, I wish more women has choice to find the one from variety of choices like US or HK.

Truly a stunning diamond and beautiful setting!
Congratulations!

I also got my anniversary ring through distinctive gems and wanted the Elyque oval as well, ended up with a custom
cut OEC.

Just saw your post about 20th anni ring! Wow, such a gorgeous ring! I like the way you enjoy with different stacked rings. I’m curious to compare Elyque oval and mine:) As mine also doesn’t have bow tie or color absorption (can’t see so much difference from D, my ering) so anyway I assume that cutting of this oval seems something special from his source. Wish I can visit him face to face to lean more about his diamond!

Your ring is absolutely stunning, and it was so much fun to read about your journey! It looks perfect on you!
