3 stone or 5 stone?

This is my mother’s ring (yellow gold).
I was thinking of adding some diamond earrings and making a 5 stone graduated ring but wonder if it would fit my finger well … pics are of what I have and a 3 stone recommendation that I don’t really love… (I think a trellis would be pretty) Ideas? I’m a size 5… thank you!

I think for a size 5 ring, five is too many stones across for a comfortable fit unless you like a high bridge/profile?

I too prefer a 3-stone as I too believe a 5-stone would not sit well on a US size 5 finger.

Thank you for your input! I’ll keep it a 3 stone… now… where do I find a setting? Any recommendations?
