I inherited my Grandmother-in-laws e-ring- an old bezel set filigree style from the 20''s. It was badly worn and not a very safe setting for the diamond which also looked pretty poor. I took it into my jeweler with my husband''s blessing and asked if it could be set as a 3 stone ring. I had a set of fabulous studs that I had made last year with the help of Pricescope. A nice .40 ACA from Whiteflash and a Signature cut .40 from Bluenile. Both rather wasted as earrings since I had grown out my hair. So I took them along to the jewelers for the side diamonds. The older diamond was half carat- not as good of quality as the newer earrings but the jeweler felt that they would help brighten up the center stone. Wow! was he right, I couldn''t believe it was the same yellow looking stone. The color is not distinguishable from the G sidestones now and the older cut gives the ring a lot of fire to go with the flash. It truly has a Past; Present; Future meaning to it now and I think I have created a new heirloom to pass down the generations.
