500 Years of Gem Cutting in the Mountains of Jura -- interesting read.

Very interesting. Thanks for posting. It seems like market volatility from things like religious persecution, border walls, and global trade is not such a new thing. They all played a part in the booms and busts of Jura!

That is really kewl thanks for posting!

"[cca. 1910] The small stones were charged per piece and the bigger stones were charged per carat. The smaller the stone, the more expensive they were, because of their diffculty to cut."

Is it still the case for any species of small white diamonds ?

Sure it is valeria101, especially when the material value becomes insignificant.
Just imagine the complexity of cutting a line of 0.10-0.05 Ct each Octavia's for an eternity ring...

On generic mass-produced Diamonds it's not the case anymore except in the ultra small production of rb's like the Chinese made 2,000 stones per carat examples.
