Hi everyone I’m in the midst of customizing my engagement ring so you may notice that I have a couple of threads on this forum - I have new concerns everyday and it’s actually getting a little frustrating

I’m now contemplating a 6 prongs setting for safety reasons. I really don’t want the prong tips to be too visible because my diamond isn’t that big (0.9ct) so I don’t want the metal to overshadow the stone.

I’m looking at smaller prong tips but for some reason I feel like they all make the stone look like sparkly spiders with the 6 prong tips?

For example this:

Are there any 6 prong tips which doesn’t look so claw-like and the same time also accentuates the round shape of the diamond? Thank you!

Small tab prongs, maybe?

Is this what you mean? I found this in one of the other threads:

Yes and depending on the setting they may be able to make them even a smidge smaller

This is just my opinion...

The tab and rounded prongs are definitely more visible, and somewhat distracting IMO. When you have small claw prongs, they seem to just disappear, and you see the diamond first rather than the prongs. The image you've posted is giant, and the actual ring is a fraction of the size. IRL, you would barely notice the prongs.

Hope this helps!

Here is a setting with small round prongs (or maybe small tab prongs). It belongs to @Kaycee2018 so maybe you can ask her
what the prongs are. Who is doing your setting? Prong size can really depend on how experienced your bench is.

Get platinum prongs so they are not as visible?
