.65 OEC solitaire for sale

oops. i was too late to chat with you! which ebay store did you get it from?

Sorry you missed it! It was gfdiaminds732 and looks like they already relisted it for $1500 or best offer. You can probably offer them about $500. By the way, what I thought was a chip was apparently an indented natural. Not sure it's much better.

so the listing still doesn't mention the indented natural!

i offered 450. declined.
i then offered 475 and wrote about the indented natural and how it is a flaw that ought to affect the grading and should be disclosed.

it was declined and i got this reply:
A Indented natural is not considered a flaw at all with old European cut diamonds. A Flaw not disclosed would be a chip on the griddle. This diamonds has no chips that can been seen with the naked eye or under any jewlers loupe.. giving it a VS2 .

i call bullshit.

His final reply:
I was very happy to receive it back. I lost $483.14 on the sale.
We mainly sell to wholesale jewelers and list very little on be ebay.
Here are the facts. All diamond buyers buy off the Rapport wholesale diamond sheet.
.65 H VS2 = $3,300.00 PER CARAT =$2,145.00 FOR THE STONE. 60% BACK OFF RAP. WOULD BE $858.00 PLUS THE COST OF THE SETTING $100.00. GIVING IT A DOWN AND DIRTY PRICE OF $958.00.

---

I don't accept the premise of the color or clarity. Nor do i believe for 1 second that the seller would have sold it in the first place for what he is calling a 483.14 loss.

this was the seller's closing comments:
Sellers on ebay almost always take a lose [sic]. They list for advertising exposure and put a limit on how much they are willing to lose.

selling for a loss seems like a lucrative business /s

Wow! Yeah, she insisted, there were no flaws, even when I sent her photos, she just ignored them. It most definitely can be seen with a jeweler's loupe, that's exactly what I used. The color is very slightly, but perceptibly lower than H (GIA/AGS), I don't think by much, but i'm not a jeweler. I would imagine the clarity is a good bit lower too, given the sizable missing chunk (natural or not) but again, I'm not in the business. To be fair, she did refund me fully, including the shipping back, but I don't think I personally would take my chances again with that seller.

she's a kook.
