Let’s hope the a-hole who did this gets caught.
This is tragic! I can imagine how terrible the owner of the ring must feel as well as Dolly and pray their insurance covers it.
Didn't Dolly have a ring sent back to her a couple years ago and it was stolen from her mailbox? It's terrible if this has happened twice and I hope they catch who is responsible.
Terrible! I can’t imagine how frustrating this is for customer and vendor! I shipped a Rolex watch years ago to Florida and it was stolen by UPS employees. Thankfully, I had fully insured it and it wasn’t a sentimental watch. So maddening and invasive - lots of wear and tear on everyone’s nerves including waiting for payout. So UPS reimbursed me the insured amount but told me they couldn’t t reimburse the shipping charges! I paid you to ship it, it was lost to one of your employees and you don’t want to reimburse the shipping charge? I was just happy to receive the payout and probably wouldn’t have even thought about the shipping charge. However, they brought it up and it added insult to injury. Hope they are able to recover that special ring!

I can't figure out the logic in this. You paid for them to get it from point A to B. It didn't get there and they apparently accepted responsibility as you got paid the insured amount but yet not for what you actually hired them to do. It makes no sense to me.
Hopefully the person who purchased this stunning stone had fully insured it before sending it back for tweaks. I know that doesn't really fix things as replacing it will not be easy, but I hope they at least get their funds back.
We need a CSI for this.
