After years on Pricescope, I decided it was finally time for a superideal cut of my own. Here it is: my Infinity, set in an antique art deco setting:

Wow, that is so GORGEOUS. I can't believe all the absolutely gorgeous rings that have just popped up. You must, must, must post many more pictures. I have a feeling the the profile will be TDF!!

Love the added touch of the sapphires, the setting is just lovely!

ETA: Are those sapphires, or am I just making things up?

I wanted a fluorescent stone with visible inclusions--I find the idea of a tiny diamond inside my diamond very romantic. So I asked Wink to find me a nice I1 with strong blue fluorescence. He found me this .73 J.

Sadly, it''s eye clean! To me, anyway. It has a number of tiny, clear crystals that I can''t see without a loupe. Under a loupe, they look like little champagne bubbles. I decided I didn''t mind so much having to look for them with a loupe, although I would have preferred a bigger crystal that I could see with my naked eyes. I know, I''m a weirdo.

The fluorescence makes the J look surprisingly white. Unfortunately, it doesn''t show up as blue or purple in daylight the way some stones with strong blue fluorescence do. So someday I may upgrade to a diamond with stronger fluorescence.

Oh, I see some of you were posting at the same time as me. Thanks for the kind words!

Here''s a shot where you can see some of the little champagne-bubble inclusions. Aren''t they sweet?

Didn''t go thru that time--maybe now?

Profile.

The setting is an antique I bought on ebay (for about $275). It''s 900 plat 10 irid, from the 1920s. It was missing its little sapphires, but fortunately my local jeweler (Ernesto''s on Broadway and w. 85th street, for any New Yorkers who are looking for someone reliable) had a couple the right size to replace them with.

Next, hand shots & I''ll go look up the specs on the stone.

Oooh it''s stunning!

AGS Ideal 0
Color grade J
Clarity grade I1
Carat wt .736
Fluorescence: strong blue

Table: 55.7

Did I forget anything?

This purchase was to satisfy my many-years Pricescope-induced craving for a superideal modern brilliant. I already have two larger family stones (1.4ish F/G transition cut and a 1.6ish K/L OEC, one from each grandmother), so I didn''t feel I needed anything very big--even if my finances would have allowed it. But I wanted it to be big enough so I could actually see the arrows. This stone is the perfect size for me.

And I''m so impressed with the cleanness and whiteness of this J I1. (Not that I was going for cleanness, but I do prefer whiter rather than warmer diamonds.) The price was great, too: $1609.

For any young couples looking for an uncompromisingly beautiful diamond at a reasonable price, I would definitely recommend looking at one of Paul''s beautiful I1s.

(And for those with bigger budgets, I bet his higher color, higher clarity stones are at least as gorgeous, too.)

Wink and Paul were both super patient with all my weird fussing. I think I''m the first customer who complained that her diamond was too eye clean! I can''t say enough about Wink''s friendly, warm attitude. And his associate Melissa is very nice too.

Your ring is just stunning! What a beautiful diamond and setting!!!

Oooh-la-la that''s soooo pretty! Wink''s artisans did an excellent job on that setting and the stone is delicious! I love the wavy curls under the gallery and it seems to hug your finger so beautifully!

Oh wow, that is beautiful! So romantic.

I adore that gallery...congrats!

Thank you!

Just to clarify, Wink had nothing to do with the setting, just the diamond. The setting is an antique I bought on ebay; my local jeweler fixed it up for me and set the diamond in it.

Gorgeous stone and setting!

I was just looking at this in the colored stone section, simply stunning, love it

What a beautiful diamond and setting! Congratulations!

It looks fantastic! I would have never known that it was a J or an I1! Those little blue sapphires made all the difference :p]
What and an amazing eBay fiind!
