I posted in the ‘Things your considering’ that I’s bought a 1.29 M Tranny from Ivy & Rose stated as being 8 mm. Seemed like lots of spread for the weight.

Well, I&R we’re good to the word/description as always. It’s 7.89 on my calipers. It’s spready.

The cool thing is mathematically I know that it’s shallow but it looks so proportional. That’s what I love about the artistry of older stones. Cutters not programs, figuring out how each stone would best look.

The setting works for now, pretty enough, but I am already thinking of a forever home that I can work with David Klass on for this fun little stone. Given it’s shallow cut, it needs a setting scanned for its dimensions. I think a simple PLT tri wire solitaire with a donut would be perfect.

Pretty! Do you see the peach tint in-person that they mentioned in the description?

I bet rose gold would bring out that bit of color but the current setting is really lovely anyway.

I can see the peachy tint in your first and the last photo (especially the last side angle)
It looks like such a pretty color. Enjoy it!

The color - peachy, pinky, brownish, orangey… it’s like that faint stain on your fingers after eating ripe fruit.

I can’t quite decide what to call it, but it’s there. I ageee whatever it is, it’s more visible when looking at the girdle.

wow! super cool! please post updates when you get it re-set :)

It is beautiful and proportional. I love it on you!

Super nice score! Love to see inspiration pics of how you’re thinking of setting her (tho I don’t hate the settings she’s in). But yah, rose gold would probably enhance that cool peachy tone. Obv you know how she looks in white metal. She is lovely - congrats on the find!

She's a beauty, what a lovely colour! What colour metal are you thinking of for the setting?

It's beautiful!!

Beautiful!

A lovely addition to a lovely collection, @caolsen! And I have to say - I love the setting it's in!

This is just beautiful, @caolsen! There is just something so endearing about these old cuts... they are so charming and compelling, and I imagine they could spin a good tale or two! I can't wait to see how you set your gorgeous stone!

When I read your title, I thought how!? but it’s actually got a crown and looks really good!
It looks great and I am jealous that you have a peachy tint. Your idea for a setting sounds perfect but I just admit I’m enjoying the one it’s in currently!

The setting she’s is pretty but just a little thin for me and my clumsy hands. I wack my hands all the time, so something beefier is what I’m thinking. And I have a not totally dissimilar setting, but that one is original period Art Deco. This is a modern cast reproduction.

I think a rose gold head in a great idea. So a head like the one David did on this bypass..

On a platinum knife edge could be cool. Thinking the basket could be like this one below, but in Tulip gold (mix of yellow and rose).

It looks so much better in person and on your hand than in the vendor's pics. Great find! Can't wait to see how you end up resetting it.

Beautiful! Good to know that the peachy tint was as described. Agree that rose gold would be fabulous.

So pretty!

Beautiful diamond and setting!

Congratulations! Lovely ring and setting.

The setting request has been sent to David. I’ll keeep you all posted!

So, work got insane, then it got truly bonkers. Then I got seriously ill with salmonella and ended up in the hospital. All the while DK was crafting a new home for my funky diamond - hits the mail today, hand shots when she arrives.

I am jazzed about how she turned out. It’s a blend of yellow and rose gold. The collar is platinum.

Ohhhhh, I love the setting it's in...................[cries a little]. I'm sure the new ring will be beautiful and I'm happy you are feeling better!

I’m so sorry you’ve been ill! Glad you have this pretty to cheer you. Love the new setting!

Hope this makes you feel better when it arrives. It looks gorgeous! Can't wait to see hand shots!

Wow! It looks so different in this new setting...nice job! I hope you are feeling better (food poisoning...yikes!)

I have hand shots, the color is more noticeable in this setting. David, as always, did a great job. It’s not graded, but David thinks it’s a faint pink/brown. 842807922E1D3F-1562-4241-B742-2C65BAEA5F03.jpeg0BCB6C92-7824-4AAD-8725-85B8E3F7D80F.jpeg84C18BA1-EA5E-434B-B23C-4855DF5BCD3B.jpeg
