Trying to do tables with just a few outlying RSVP''s (we have a crazy high yes rate of 90%) and I was wondering... Would it look tacky or even be possible to seat 9 people at a table meant for 8. I don''t want to get a 10 person table since the rest of the tables are of 8, and I think this group needs to sit together. Ugh. This table stuff is tough!!! Any thoughts?

I really think it''ll be cramped...

hmmm... does it help that 5 of them are tiny women ?

If they are really good friends, I don''t think will be any problem, better together than in 2 different tables

I have this issue with our "family" table at our wedding, there are 9 of us and table is only for 8. I asked the co-ordinator if it would be too cramped to add an extra person and she said 9 in an 8-person table is totally do-able, 10 is too cramped.

As for the size of the women, it doesn''t matter much because the space ON the table is constant.

absolutely not a problem. i was a nine-- at a table for eight-- and it was imperceptible.

Our rental coordinator (we''re renting our tables) said that putting 9 at our 8-person tables was doable in a situation like the one you are describing. So, I''d go ahead and seat your group together. If I were one of that group of friends I think I''d prefer to be slightly snug but be all together than to have tons of room but seperated from each other (if that makes sense).
