A bad Dream

I had a horrible dream last night...

I dreamt that the FF told me he had the ring for me...I went running to go get the ring, and I found it on the floor out of a box. It was truly the ugliest ring EVER. The Band was like one of those full finger things in yellow gold with a Pear shaped diamond that was set crooked.

I pretended to like it for a few minutes then burst into tears and apologized for being so mean to him, but told him the ring was hideous and asked what happened to the gorgeous ring we purchased together (The two of us in real life already purchased the setting). He said he was watching tv and saw an ad for this ring and thought I would like it.

I asked for the specs of the ring and he handed me a huge booklet and it said it was graded by TOE incorporation. I flipped out on the boyfriend and he apologized to me and said he really thought I would like it. I looked at the diamond and was like "Well the diamond is pretty!" and as I said this the diamond popped off the ring---and I realized it was fake and glued on the ring!

Then I woke up.

Anyone else having crazy ring dreams?

Oh my god, I could''ve written your post!

Right when SO and I first started talking about marriage, I seriously had dreams almost every night about rings that didn''t fit, were hideously ugly, or started falling apart as soon as he put them on my finger.

Sometimes, I''d be so upset, I''d take it out on SO the next morning. lol.

I remember them being really stressful dreams, I woke up very tense and my muscles hurt. I think it''s just a little bit of "cold feet" about realizing you want to spend your life with someone. All of your anxieties come out in the form of an ugly, cheap, broken ring!

aww im sorry...I HATE bad dreams!! I kept having one about us getting married, and my mom was doing the total opposite of what I wanted...and it was frustrating I remember and Id wake up all mad, but then happy to know it was fake... I hope I dont get a dream like that...ahhh!

Here is the only crazy dream I’ve ever had (regarding rings).

I was in an auditorium filled with people I knew and my boyfriend gets on stage. He says something that I can’t remember and someone hands me an envelope. Inside the envelope were two rings. The first ring was a three stone with a center yellow diamond (beautiful!) The other ring was again very flat and in the shape of a lion.

Every time I put the ring with the three diamonds turned into three sheets of very small metal sticking out from it with what looked like diamonds in them but it was so flat it didn’t feel like diamonds. I would put it on and hate it and then take it off and love it. I ended up going with the lion shaped ring.

My best friend and I analyzed it...I wish I had saved what we came up with because I don''t remember. I have a picture of the ring but having a really hard time attaching it...something about URL error.

I have TOTALLY had dreams like that in the past....usually after a conversation about getting engaged. Usually, the ring falls apart, or has like weird lockets and charms hanging from it! Bizarre, I know.

Haven''t had ANY lately, though, and we''ve been talking about getting engaged quite frequently lately....

Maybe I wasn''t as ready before as I am now? I am certainly feeling very grounded and "ready" for this next step. Before, things in our lives were sort of up in the air, weren''t sure where we were living next, etc.

But now we have a pretty specific timeline, so things seem more "real" I guess.

Oh my - I have been having those dreams as well. The ring usually starts off very pretty, but once its on me it either turns into this monstrosity of a 3rd grae art project, or completely falls apart. and then the proposal itself is usually the worse thing out there.
I think they just remind me to chill out and the right man/ring/proposal will come. Which of course i know have the man and the ring (grandma''s) just waiting for the proposal!

The worst ring design - - it looked liked seattles EMP. and if you''ve seen that, you know its ugly!!

OMG I laughed too... I loved the part about the ring being graded by TOE Incorp. That''s great.

I always dream about things that I''ve been thinking about in the back of my mind (or in the front of my mind for that matter!)
I just had a dream the other night that I went to work...saw smoke coming out of the water cooler (go figure) so I ran to go find our GM to tell him! When I found him he was in a very serious meeting with my direct supervisor and my direct coworkers.
I could see I was not invited to the meeting so I went back to my desk. A few minutes later he came over and told me I was fired and that I had 30 minutes to pack up my personal belongins.

Hmm...could it be because I''m on PS all day???? eeekk....

For those of you who have these dreams, are most of you picking out the rings or letting your BFs do it? Despite the real life nightmare of finding my ring, I never had these dreams so I was just wondering if its the not knowing that is causing it.

We''ve picked the setting out already so it''s not about the surprise (I also pretty much know when he''s proposing).

Left out one part of my dream...when I broke down crying, I remember screaming and You didn''t even propose! in this way annoying voice.

Yeah after the fact the Toe part of it is hilarious but in my dream I was so p*ssed!
