This project started with me buying these bixbites and buying this pair of red Burmese spinels from Cecile Raley Designs in February 2019.

I just wanted the bixbites for the rarity, since I had never seen bixbites in person, especially as these came untreated, which is pretty rare.

Then, the next day, I saw this beautiful spinel pair and impulsively just needed to have them. (Tagging @elle_71125 because she had her eye on the spinels and wanted to know how I set them.)

I had the initial idea of wanting the spinels to be "ears" in a curved ring that would go around a solitaire. However, I did not like the idea of a monocolor ring. So, I bought some lavender sapphires to alternate with the red gems. These lavender sapphires all came from Madagascar.

However, I did not have the solitaires yet; I bought a silver spinel from Cecile Raley Designs and a blue zircon from Litnon later that year and had them set by Ivy and Rose.

After wearing these solitaires for a couple months, I started favoring my other custom projects. I always wanted more color than I could get from the single gem. So I thought I could get my chaser set made to go around these solitaires. However, 2019 was a busy year, and I had a lot of higher priority projects, so the chaser set was postponed for this year.

I have learnt so much just from your opening post !
Very much looking to see what a chaser necklase is
But i can just tell i will love it !

The project was set to begin in March 2020 with Enhoerning, but due to COVID-19 in NYC, the wax carver did not start working on it until July. I got this sneak peak August 14.

Inken sent me these pictures of the finished rings August 26. :kiss2:

I asked Inken to make the curve fit around a 9x7 E-W oval, so I have more flexibility in what cuts of the solitaires I can wear the rings with.

Now I'm craving a larger solitaire to wear with my chaser set. :lol-2:

P.S. I consider Inken's pictures to be more representative of the color as I see them in real life, than my cell phone camera pictures.

Wow ! Lovelly !
Oddly i was right this moment thinking about enhancer rings
I have never thought of a coloured stone enhancer
And i must say now you have shown us yours i love it !

@voce here i was thinking you were making a necklase :lol-2:
Is chancer another word for enhancer ?

Thanks @Daisys and Diamonds I just thought that the red spinels were so special I'd want to wear them with multiple rings rather than wear them in only one ring. :lol-2:

Now maybe I'll be thinking about getting a colorless marquis diamond to wear in the center with this chaser set! That or a sizeable paraiba. But I'm kind of thinking the blue is too bright, and having 3 colors could be kind of clashy...

I've been saying chaser because Inken used the word chaser. I assume so. Yes, all the other enhancer rings I've seen before were colorless diamonds. But I just loved these gems and thought they'd make for a killer curved band, both the bixbites and red spinels.

A couple of gallaries? Like, you want to hide the galleries on some of your rings?

Oh my gosh, I love these! :kiss2: I love the way you alternated the colors between the two bands.

Yay, I'm glad you love these. I'm always a little anxious when setting something I "stole" from under the nose of another PSer, in case the gems could have been used to greater effect in another PSer's project.

Someday after I've saved up the funds, I think this chaser set justifies me buying yet another paraiba of about 9x7 in size (bigger than anything I currently have) to wear with these chaser rings ;-)

These are so gorgeous  ! I love this idea and it turned out amazing!!

I‘m glad you got them (I never saw them as “stolen”). :DThey were used exactly as they should have been...in your gorgeous new ring. And hells yes to a paraiba center. That would be killer! :kiss2:

COOL

Excellent idea, voce, what a fun way to dress up solitaires!
