A cure for DSS; a setting for a little overblue

I bought a little platinum deco ring with a .29 ct diamond in it because I loved the setting. I will probably replace the diamond, which is a pretty cut but a low color (not that I mind low colors) and clarity (not that I mind reasonable inclusions, but this one has a surface-reaching feather with a chunk missing that goes across part of the table and two other facets). In fact, I mostly bought the ring to hold a little ~.30 ct overblue that I've had for years and never set.

One fun effect of wearing a smaller-diamond ring is that if you wear it for a week or two without looking at your bigger diamonds, when you once again put on a bigger-diamond ring, the bigger diamond looks gigantic.

Here it is with the overblue, which is sitting in the middle seat of an empty setting, along with another diamond around the same size. The overblue is an F VSBF, and the other one, which is not turning purple in sunlight, is a J (if I remember correctly) SBF. The diamond in the new (to me) ring is supposedly a K SI1, and it passed eBay's authentication program with GIA, but their tolerances would allow it to be an M SI2, which I think is more likely.

In indirect sun the overblue looks less purple, but you can still see the fluorescence. I love the effect and look forward to being able to play with it easily once it's set.

I couldn't get a really clear photo of the feather/chip with my phone, but you can see it here at the top left of the table. Otherwise it's a very pretty stone.

I had no idea how hard they were to find when I got it! I bought a little VSB diamond because I thought the fluorescence would be cool and would bring the cost down, and it turned this beautiful lavender color in the sun. I assumed all VSB diamonds would do that. I was wrong. Most of my diamonds have some degree of fluorescence, but this is the only overblue I've found. I've been looking for a bigger one for YEARS, with no success.
