A Dan spinel and a couple of cheapy stones...

Hi Guys,
Some of you may remember me buying a setting on ebay last week. The stone I intend to set in it (provided I like the setting and keep it) is a purple spinel with a slight blue color shift. His pictures are not accurate at all, it''s darker in person. Dan actually said that he should have taken different shots, and told me about the darkness and appearance before I bought it. I like the little guy and took some shots with a peridot I bought ages ago and "watermelon" tourmaline before I knew anything. Heck, I still don''t know anything!

WOW you took lovely shots! The stone looks almost too light in Dan''s photos.

I do like it and I think I''ll hang on to it. I wish it was a bit lighter, but it is very sapphire-like in person and I LOVE sapphires. I am waiting for that ebay setting and holding out to see what they will look like together. Keep your fingers crossed that the ebay setting is okay... I have my doubts!
