Yes, I have had a very productive day today.
My FI and I started out the day with lunch at a cute pizza restauraunt in town to settle our nerves before our notification of marriage interview.
There was really nothing to be nervous about in the end. We were interviewed together, but separately if you get me. Some registrars will make the partner sit outside while they interview you totally separately. Not in our case. It was all done and dusted within half an hour. The super intendant registrar was fabulous and made us feel very welcome and relaxed. We had a run down of how the ceremony will be conducted and have a nice little planning pack to fill in and send back before the big day.
Then we visited the reception venue to discuss plans for the day. We got a lot sorted and settled a price per head for the sit down meal for the reception, and also for the buffet in the evening. We have a great idea of how the room will be set up for the afternoon and for the evening and what will be provided by them and what we will need to provide in terms of decoration etc.
As it is a fairly low key reception in a pub function room, they are only too happy to accommodate anything we will require, which is great.
(We finished up a productive day by purchasing a new hamster...not wedding related at all but I am so happy with her I had to post about her! We love hamsters and have been keeping them for a few years. Since the death of one of them last year, we only had one left up till today so we had to get a "playmate" for him. Even though they will remain in separate cages it'll be nice for him to sense another of his kind around! We've called her Shea as she is a nice light colour like shea butter (whichI use a lot!) and is delightfully fluffy!)
So yes...I have had a grea day and am going to spend the rest of the week making place cards etc.
I should also mention...our wedding is 3 MONTHS TODAY! 26th August! It's coming up really quickly.
