okay, instead of a recieving line we will "release" the rows so FI and I will stand at the end of each row to greet everyone. How can I make a notation of this in the program?

Also you still use "Mrs" for widows right?

What about if a married couple have two different last names. Do both names go on one seating card or do they each get their own?

Mrs. for widows.

married couple, and wife keeps her maiden name, it''s Mr His Last Name and Miss (or Ms) Her Last Name.

But on the same card or seperate? These things are so confusing!

Put them on the same card, they are still a couple even if they have separate last names. Make sure to use Ms. instead of Miss.
Not sure how to explain how you will be receiving your guests, but we didn''t include a recieving line in our program anyhow.
good luck! So close!

I used Ms or Mrs for everyone. Is that right?

no one has any wording suggestions?

How about

"Following the ceremony, please remain in your pews/seats until you have been released by the bride and groom."

And I agree with Tybee about the placecards.

Thanks Saturn. Our day is almost here!!!

A couple I know did this a few years ago--there was no program notation, but they made sure that ushers were standing at the ends of the rows to release them. Somehow in this area people assume they will be released by rows anyways.

Good luck! Excellent idea.
