Aren''t these the same cut for a wedding gown. I have read some things that say that they are the same and others that say they are not.. Any help would be wonderful!!!!

From my understanding, princess has a defined waist, whereas a-line does not. My dress -- there's a picture of me in it on the gown thread if you'd like to take a peek -- is an a-line.

no.. actually Princess is a type of a-line. Princess is an a-line dress that has the two seams running all the way down the dress, from the bust alll the way down to the bottom. Ballgown is the one with the definied waist.
Let me see if I can find you a good example of a princess gown..
well here is a good example even though they are BM dresses.. it shows the princess seams really well

where as a regular a line would just look like this:

Would this mean then... that is an A-line dress looks perfect on my body type.. then a Princess would fit the same??? Just have different seams?

Probably.. I personally hated the way the dresses with the seams looked. they just bugged me. I told the girl at the one bridal shop that and she acted like I was little bit insane.. but that was just how I felt. They''d probably fit the same, but the line of them may draw attention differently than a regular aline, maybe? Who knows.. this is not my area.. I''m a sheath girl. :)
