FF and I met at the KOP Mall (in PA) Tiffany''s last night after work to check out some stuff. The main reason we went was so I could try on the Victoria ring (RB Aquamarine center stone with 0.91 cts in 8 marquise cut diamonds). I have always admired this ring and thought it would be an unconventional additional choice for him to throw into the pot of options for my e-ring. Its well within our budget too. The ring was LOVELY but covered the entire top surface of my ring finger (which is a 5.5). I tried it on with a semi-eternity shared prong wedding band and the plain knife edge band to complete the look. It was certainly attention grabbing but I don''t think I want or need that much finger coverage for an every day e-ring. Could make a wonderful RHR though... maybe for my PhD graduation??
So while we were there we tried on a wide range of sizes in center stones in the classic Tiffany setting. We tried on 0.75-0.8 cts (which is what we can afford from there) and then 1.25 cts (which is what we can afford from James Allen/Whiteflash/GOG/Blue Nile etc...). We concluded that either would be great so I''ve left it up to him. He didn''t really give me any hints as to what he was thinking unfortunately. His only comment was "I have all the information I need now." The sales associate who originally ordered the Victoria ring wasn''t in last night but FF took his card and said that he would be in touch to talk about bringing in more choices in our price range. The rings I tried on there were VVS1-2 stones and I certainly don''t need that!
Whew- sorry for the long post but my best friend couldn''t care less about engagement rings or jewelery so you guys get to listen to my excited babble.
