A tale of two paraibas

I need setting ideas for the two oval paraibas I bought from the wonderful DesertRose. The slightly larger blue oval is 0.58ct (6.5x5.0mm) and the more green-blue oval is 0.57ct (6.2x4.7mm).

I prefer to have them set together in one ring, but I am open to setting them separately in two rings as well. So design ideas of both are welcome. I would prefer designs that provide some protection for the stones.

Here are some examples I like, but do share your ideas.

A. The glamorous: this is a Chopard ring. I do love it but I am a bit concerned how often I would actually wear it as my working environment is quite casual.

B. the glittering: this ring is from Gildedlane, a much more modest design and will provide protection as well.

The following two designs are for setting them separately into two rings.
C. the serene: I am thinking of demantoid as the size stones. I like the blue and green pairing shown in the "Show your Paraiba" thread (copied below).

I personally would choose a by-pass ring design for maximum impact, something like this:

DK :))

Love the design of D! It would make a great and chic middle finger ring.

I personally don't care much for having 2 "star of the show" in the same ring and prefer having one main stone in the spotlight. Just my taste and opinion though, we are all different:)

Beautiful paraiba like these are getting harder and harder to find...and the costs have gone up like crazy. So, having said that, I would personally want to maximize my paraiba collection by setting them into separate rings. So that's my recommendation. Make them into two gorgeous rings so you can choose based on your outfit, or mood, or whatever.

I love my double halo ring and would absolutely be delighted to see yours in a similar setting. I actually "borrowed" that design with permision from SparkliesLuver, back when she created her pear shaped double halo ring.

You could also do a colorful halo with the green demantoids, emeralds, or tsavorites...if you're looking for a fun ring. Paraiba also looks amazing with hayune & or pink spinel.

Pretty stones! Since they are slightly different shades, orienting them in different directions might be nice. Although, they would still look nice in a more traditional bypass ring too.07D3237E-1AD2-4D4E-A938-8A51F0AAC380.png

I likes some moi et toi designs, especially if they are of different colors and complementing shapes. The two paraibas, however, have the same shape and similar colors. Still, I think it would be interesting to put the two shades of paraiba color together if I can find a design I love.

I love your paraiba collections (honestly your whole collections), and thank you for letting me copy your ring if I "need" to. I am fine with just one ring for one type of stones; so far, that has been the case for me. The only exception would be emeralds; I hope I will have more emerald rings in future.
One ring or two rings will just depend on which design wins my heart. Eventually I may end up with two rings just because there are more designs with one center stone. That would be wonderful too.

Somehow the typically bypass halo design with two ovals of same colors does not look attractive to me. I think different shapes would make the design much more interesting like the one in the hand shot you shared.

This is more interesting than the typical bypass halo design. I find a hand shot with a similar but no halo ring.

I’d do this design with pale pink melee.
Do you have an example of paraiba with pale pink combo? I know @elle_71125 put a hot pink halo around her paraiba, resulting in an intense, vibrant color combo.

Everyone agrees they'll probably fit perfectly together in one ring. But if it were me owning these candies, I'd go for two rings - one which is simpler, more subtle, for everyday wear and enjoyment, and one which blings it up to the fullest for more special occasions.

For example, here's one bling baby I saved a while back, don't remember the source:

I do! @mochiko42 had originally had her paraiba set with baby pink spinel melee.

And @chrono had hers set with some lovely pink melee in the mix.

Put me in the bypass camp. I agree with @dk168 that putting them in the same ring will make them more impactful, but can see @Atwater's point about bypass rings with nearly identical stones. I wonder if you could make the stones "different" by putting them in different shaped halos (one following the oval shape, and one in an elongated cushion shape) Or with different colored halos. Just throwing ideas out there.

I like the one with the different shapes too. This one is not the typical bypass ring but utilizes the same shape stones.

I remember seeing this jeweler's work at Instagram. Bold and modern, very impressive.

Wow, this is delicate and lovely. I totally love the color combo. But I am concerned how delicate pink looks against my skin tone;maybe adding an outer diamond halo could help?

The four-stone (with two diamonds as side stones) ring is nice, and the bow-heart ring is cute.

For putting the two stones vertically with halo, I did consider this IVY design. The first is with two round and the second with two oval. I think they are interesting, but don't feel this is it.

I thought about that; have not found a good example yet. I am bad at drawing/designing it myself.

This is definitely better than the "typical" bypass design. Thanks for sharing.
