Hi guys,

I went to a wedding this past weekend and it was so beautiful that I wanted to share the details....

Anyway, it was outside in a gorgeous venue in Southern, Ca. It had beautiful grass, its own lake, stone fountains, bush sculptures, outdoor stone fireplaces, and an outdoor stone bar. The couple said their vows under a gazebo and when it came time for the bride to walk down the aisle, instead of just walking down the aisle, the bride came across the lake on a boat, and then her dad helped her off the boat and walked her down the aisle. Also, they gave us live butterflies in boxes and when they announced the bride and groom as husband and wife we opened up the boxes and the butterflies all flew up in the air. After that, the bride and groom walked down the aisle together and left on the boat. Once they got to the boat, the captain popped a bottle of champagne for them and they rode off across the lake together as husband and wife. The whole event was so romantic.

That sounds very romantic. Was there a party afterwards, or did they sail away into their honeymoon?

I saw the butterfly boxes thing a year ago, and bookmarked it. It''s pricey, but if it''s a small wedding, it''s doable!

Glad you enjoyed the wedding! Do you have any pictures?

Wow! That sounds so sweet. Butterfly boxes? I''ve never heard of it, but it sounds so charming.

mscushion: Yes, they had a nice reception afterwards. It was in a pretty tent with a chandelier. They had good food and three different types of wedding cake.

trillionaire: Ya, I thought that it was probably pricey. Do you know how much it costs?

I''ll attach some pictures to the post

So beautiful! I love the idea of the bride arriving on the boat, so unique.
I do have to add a not so great part about the butterflies. My sisters best friend got married with those and when the time came to release the butterflies many were dead and many others simply fluttered and dropped, mine actually fluttered into the hair of the guest in front of me and I saw a number of others do the same, it was awful. It was a very long time ago so it sounds line they''ve improved it a lot since then!!

What is the venue? I live in Southern California and although I am not engaged, it looks very beautiful and is pretty enough to research!

That sounds beautiful! What a gorgeous place.

I hate to be a downer but I have to second the dead butterfly problem - seen it and it''s not pleasant... Just something to be aware of.

I don't know where this venue is but it reminds me of the Los Angeles Arboritum & Botanical Gardens in Arcadia. That's a lovely place to say 'I do'. You can have your ceremony in the rose garden, by the fountains or by the lake and it also has a mountain view in the background

trillionaire: Thanks for the website

letthesunshine: It''s called Los Willows, and it''s located in Fallbrook, CA (Near San Diego)
