Finally caved and just bought a costco ring.

I like the fact that costco has a lifetime return policy.

I'm hoping the cut is good or we'll just return it.

Welll... it's hard to say, since it comes with an IGI cert, so the color is most likely a J-K and who knows about the clarity. I don't think that setting would be anywhere near $4K though... so, no... I'd return it. If your budget is around $8500, you can probably find a nicer diamond and set.

Here is a JA stone that would most likely out perform the Costco (HCA 1.8 ) @ $4320 -- there is a dark inclusion in between 12 and 1 o'clock, but it may be eye clean enough for you (it's magnified 40x).
