I posted on the LIW thread about how I just bought a house. Yay! And so eager me cannot wait to furnish it. I'm trying to be good so I am holding myself back, but I weakened and fell for these great bargains at overstock.com. I got this oversized ottoman 31.5"x31.5" for $139.99. So fun!

And this mirror for the powder room 21"x27" for $49.99.

These adorable towels for the powder room. Set of 6 for $39.99.

At least shipping is only like $2 or something...!

And this necklace which is a maybe for my wedding set (opinions asked for here!).

Anyway, I had this coupon for $20 off the purchase, but the computer only gave me $15.15, so I called them and asked them to fix it. She did, and told me she would put the order in for me. I agreed, gave her my info. Two hours later I check my account and turns out the girl PUT IN THE WRONG ADDRESS!!!! now granted, it is sometimes hard to hear over the phone, out I spelled it out (E like elephant, L like Lamp, and so on) and she did things like FORGOT my CONDO # (just didn''t even put in a number), grossly misspelled my street address, AND misspelled HOUSTON, TX

I call them to tell them their mistake and they''re like sorry, can''t do anything about that. just cross your fingers and hope it makes it! WTF?!?! I was steaming. I was like you are KIDDING me! After arguing with her for awhile about how unfair that was since it was totally their fault (which she ADMITTED) why should I be out $300 bucks?! She then reluctantly told me that if I never receive the shipment, the would replace the items or give me a full refund. I was semi-placated but still upset cuz i really like the stuff and really really want it! and why did it take her so long to tell me I could ask for a refund?! Grrrrr.....

I''ve had issues with Overstock and won''t use them anymore. But that seems ridiculous. I guess if it has already been shipped they can''t change things though, since it is out of their hand...but seriously, those mistakes seem silly. If you paid on credit card and they don''t handle it well, even if it is THEIR mistake, at least you have some recourse. Just keep a record of what you were told by whom.

Good luck, I hope you get everything you ordered cuz they look nice and they''re awesome deals for your new place!

Yeah, I''ve had problems with them too. Generally, nothing goes wrong. But when it does, forget it. They are completely useless. At least you should be able to fight it w/ your credit card as Blue mentioned, if you need to.

Has it already shipped? I''d cancel the order, verified it got cancelled, then re-order it. Hopefully you get a different cust. ser. rep who knows what they are doing. I don''t buy that they can''t change the address. Try to talk to a supervisor.

My sister had a huge problem with Overstock.com a couple of years ago.

She received a bill for a platinum wedding band that she never ordered. It was charged to her account and had the correct name and address on the order and everything. She had never ordered ANYTHING from Overstock so it was very strange.

When she called them to complain, they said that they would give her a merchandise credit, but they would not refund her credit card with the money! She went round and round with them and I think that they eventually did give in and credit her account but she was livid.

YIKES, that is scary!! Did she cancel that credit card? Sounds like someone got her number..

I''ll have to ask her about it, icekid. It was a while ago. I remember being shocked at the time too. I also can''t remember if they ever delivered the ring.

Hopefully the zip code is right. That''s all UPS and other carriers need to get to the right segment of the right city. If the misspelling isn''t too off the mark a good delivery man should be able to deliver at least to the right complex. Don''t get me started on UPS though. I just had a pair of diamond earring jackets from Ross Simons that I ordered for a co-worker''s birthday stolen by UPS. I say stolen because I tracked the package all the way to the delivery truck and "out for delivery". For some unknown reason the package had an off load scan from the truck and after that vanished. I''ve gotten nothing but a run around from UPS ever since.

Sorry for the rant. Good luck with your delivery Ginger!!

That''s just scary. I''ve only ordered one thing through them and thankfully I didn''t have any trouble with them. But now I think I will be more cautious.

Call your credit card company and stop payment!
