About to pull the trigger on a CVB setting

I’m about to commit to a CVB Casablanca setting for my OEC. Thoughts? I have a 2.49 L OEC that has been sitting in a plain solitaire made by DK, but I’ve always felt like it needs a prettier home. I have very long fingers and just big hands in general, so I feel like I need a setting with more presence. Plus, it feels like the solitaire just isn’t special enough for this stone. But, I don’t want something too fussy, too much going on, too cocktail ring looking, etc. What are your thoughts on this setting? It’s really hard to know without seeing in person, but of everything I’ve looked at online, it seems to be a good choice without totally breaking the bank. Pictures of my current solitaire. Or should I keep it a solitaire and just do a different shank maybe with something special? I just know this particular solitaire isn’t doing it for me. I’m planning to do a modified basket on the Casablanca so a wedding band can sit more flush than the original one.

I love that setting.

I think people are typically solitaire folks or more detailed/halos/bezels.

I am not a solitaire girl. I genuinely like very few solitaire settings personally. I like Erika Winters. But her stuff is almost double the cost of CvB.

If it feels plain and you like more ornate, plus want a size bump, I think it's a good choice.

I think your stone would look beautiful in the casablanca halo!! And the added size oomph is a bonus!! I dream of having a CVB setting hehehe.

I love solitaires in theory but on my hand it just always feels like something is missing. I love the Erika Winters ones also but can’t justify that cost! I also feel like the OEC is just begging me for something else. That sounds so stupid haha! It’s just stressful to make that kind of change.

Your solitaire is very proportional on your finger.

I agree that most people are either solitaire people or halo people. I’m a solitaire person myself so my instinct is to gussy up with bands, wraps, etc. leaving the option to go back to simple on low key days.

To me it looks squatty from the side and I feel like I would like a thicker shank. I have added bands to try to help my need for more, but I don’t know if it’s this particular solitaire or what, but I feel like the diamond gets lost in the bands. But I love the idea of the simple solitaire, I just feel like mine doesn’t look as good as other people’s when I see them on other people. I’m probably just crazy

I think the new setting will be gorgeous! I waited 23 years to reset my e-ring. I wish I had done it sooner!

I just purchased the one Diamondseeker2006 had for sale with an AVR and I am so excited. I think it will look beautiful with your diamond!

Can’t wait to see yours!

I think your solitaire it beautiful but if it doesn't do it for you then by all means! The CVB Casablanca is a lovely design.

I have a Casablanca for my (much smaller 0.81ct AVR) and it looks fantastic! I don't think it looks too cocktail-ish at all. It's very delicate and subdued, at least in my size.
