Aca for necklace

Would be a great choice for a pendant.
You can peruse their pendant settings, then scroll down a bit and check out the gallery for diamonds that they've set in those pendants.

Definitely, it would be a lovely stone (one of the best actually)!

Would make a great pendant!

Thanks guys. Just one more in the running. I like that it’s a bit heavier in weight, but it’s gia versus ags ? I know they’re both a cut above, but more sure which is better . The misses doesn’t want any fluorescence at all .

It's GIA with the AGS light report, now that GIA owns AGS as of last December.
The other one was graded back before GIA acquired AGS
4.80mm vs 4.96mm - almost at the 0.2-0.25mm minimum before most people can discern a difference in diameter. However, at these carat weights, the difference may be a bit easier to notice.

I would go with the added size. The .46 gets you close to 5mm.

Does it matter that one is listed as ideal and the other is excellent?

No.
One is AGS, so it qualified for their top "Ideal" grade.
The other is GIA, so it qualified for their top "Excellent" grade.
Both are held to the strict and exacting SIC standards by Whiteflash, which goes well beyond any grading lab.

Technically , they are BOTH "AGS Ideal" :)

Thanks everyone. Just trying to decide if I do 16,18 or do 16 with an extender so she can wear at different lengths. Does anyone know the price of that versus just doing it at 18?

Adding a jump ring or two is extremely inexpensive (and sometimes free). Making an extender costs more because it is a length of chain with a clasp.

If the pendant is stationary, I'd recommend getting the extender, but if the pendant is floating, then the jump ring makes sense.

Just chiming in to say I’m a big fan of jump rings. My diamond solitaire pendant is a set in a floating bezel by David Klass Jewelry. It is 18” with jump rings at 16” and 17”. Day-to-day when worn alone I wear it at 17” and go to 16” or 18” depending on what I’m layering it with. Definitely worth the minimal up charge.

Thank you. I talked to them and they said I’d pay 25 to upgrade to 18 inch and then 35 to add a jump ring at whatever length I want. I assume that’s only for 1 jump ring though. So 60 bucks extra I guess. So the extra length just hangs off the back ? It’s not bothersome at all?

For a sliding pendant, jump rings work. When wearing it at the shorter length, I double back the extending chain and hook the end jump ring in the clasp with the shorter jump ring so the left over chain doesn't hang long.

Just make sure you are listing to the key point... floating pendant = jump ring(s) good, stationary pendant = jump rings don't work as well bc of centering issues.

The 4 corners one is a floating one?

I don't know what that one is, can you post a pic or a link?

Floating means the pendant can slide around on the necklace chain, it is not placed at a fixed point on the chain.

It’s this one. The gal from white flash didn’t say anything about not doing jump chains on this but it seems like it’s not the right one to do it on.

That's a stationary setting.

Envision the necklace on your partner. The diamond is at the middle front of her neck/chest. The clasping mechanism is on the opposite side and positioned at the middle of the back of her neck.

Now if you have a jump ring in an inch or two from the clasp end, when the necklace is closed at the jump ring, in order for the diamond to still be at the middle front of your partner's neck/chest, the clasp at the back can no longer be at the middle of the back of the neck, its off a couple inches to one side. Some people that bothers, some it does not. It bothers me. So for my stationary pendant necklace, I have an extender (with several jump rings in the extender) which keeps everything balanced and even. Things like having my clothing/jewelry askew bug me terribly, but it may not bother your partner at all, I have no idea.

With a diamond that size, it would normally be worn at a short length such as 16" for an average size neck. I definitely can't see wearing it at 18". I wouldn't bother putting jump rings for this particular pendant. For larger pendants (not necessarily diamond solitaires), I love two length options, but not a small diamond solitaire pendant.

That makes a lot of sense, thanks for your input . Should I look for a smaller table? I know 57 is pushing it .

I wouldn't. The diamond is fairly small, looking for a diamond with less spread would be the opposite direction I'd personally want to take with it. The diamond you selected is an ACA so it's already vetted and you need to trust that it's sparkly and lovely.

Thanks so much. I asked about an extender, but they can’t give me a price till Monday . I feel like I should give her the option of being able to wear it at different lengths, but maybe I’m wrong.
