I am running out of time to find accessories for this dress, so I thought I might ask you resourceful PSers for some help here.

I needed an outfit that would do double duty so I could wear it at my BF''s corporate holiday party (sit down dinner, cocktails and dancing at a nice hall) and at my cousin''s upcoming December 15th wedding in MI. I have a HORRIBLE time trying to fit anything to my body - if it fits on the top, it''s loose everywhere else usually. I settled on this black and white "tuxedo" look dress, and paired it with a black satin shrug since it will likely be pretty cold on the days I''ll be wearing this.

I am struggling with accessories for this outfit. I had a cute bright red flowered bag, and found some potential shoes at Target in the same shade that look pretty sassy. I could definitely pull off the bright red heels, but I''ve also been looking for some "safer" black satin pumps as an option. I am clueless on what to do for jewelry, other than that I don''t want to do a necklace with the dress. My hair will be half up, half down.

I''ve been having trouble posting more than one pic per post, so hang in there... Here are some reference photos:

Some black satin ones I tried at DSW tonight and liked, but did not buy yet-

Suggestions or comments on shoes? Bags? Earrings? I''d prefer things that could be picked up right from a store instead of having to wait for shipping, as my first event is next Friday!

Thanks in advance!

Equestrienne, keep in mind I'm not exactly PS's best fashionista...

However, IMHO that dress has a lot going on already (with the white tux collar, buttons, and is that tulle or something on the bottom?) , even though it's simple black and white. I am not sure if those red shoes and bag are the way to go.

have to say that i agree with Tgal on this one. though the dress is simple, but the tux effect it has going on will not work with the red shoes/bag IMO...i think going with black satin is nice (i like the one u posted).

also dont think u should wear a necklace as it will distract from the neckline of the dress..i think either nice hoops or dangly earrings with perhaps a nice chunky braclet will be more than enuf..?

I agree. I think the black shoes will work best.

Voting for safe black shoes and some fun, dangly and sparkly earrings, no necklace! Clutch bag in black with sparkles if possible.

TGal, MSB, Tacori, and Monnie-

Thanks for all your input. I do like the red shoes and may keep them and pair them with something else later. I just wasn''t 100% on using them for this outfit, hence the post. I''ll keep looking at DSW this week to see what else I can find. I also noticed Zappos is doing free overnight shipping for the holidays - maybe I can find something there too.

I like those red shoes, but agree they would be too much with that dress. I would stick with black satin shoes and handbag, some dangly earrings and perhaps a bracelet.

I love Zappos. Everytime I order, the shoes arrive within 2 days and the shipping is free both ways. I am bad (and hard to fit), so I order several pairs at a time to try on and just return the "losers." I have never had any problems with returns (365 day return policy).

Kay, thanks for your input.

I returned the red shoes at Target this week and I picked up this bag to go with my dress. I also stopped by the DSW near work and picked up the black shoes I had posted. Now I'm on to earrings and/or a bracelet and I'll be done.

The "buttons" on the front of this dress are big rhinestones, so maybe I can find some dangly costume bling earrings to match.

Equestrienne, yay for those DSW black shoes and the lovely satin bag w/ bow...how do you feel about not matching your jewelry to the rhinestone buttons, but instead doing some really fun ivory-colored round "stones"? I would kinda love to see you do either lots of sparkly bling to go with the buttons on your dress, OR something that works with the ivory accents on your dress. The latter would be super lady-like and conservatively sexy, methinks. JMO, I don''t think you can go wrong either way.
