Hi!

I am officially waiting on the ring.

He has asked me to marry him. He asked my mother if he could marry me.

We have set a date. We have established a wedding budget.

The only thing that we have not done is look for engagement rings. We have discussed it. But to be honest...I''m quite afraid of his taste AND I don''t want him to pay a lot of money for a piece of crap diamond.

So, we wait.

Oh yeah.

My SO has weird taste to and I''m quite picky, so I make sure to drop him little hints whenever I can. Like if we are at the mall and we pass a jewelry store I''m always throwing hints, and sometimes I''m not tactful at all and I email him the settings I love!

Have you thought about buying online? Depending on how much you''ve discussed the ring- and whether he''d be cool with it- you could send him some online vendors.

For example, I''ve sent SO a few links to some RB H&A from Whiteflash.com to give him an idea of what I like (varying carat weights as that''s not a big priority to me). I hope he does go the online route, but even if he doesn''t - he''s got an idea of what I like as far as cut, colour, clarity etc go.

We are definitely going to buy the ring online. We don''t have to worry about paying taxes and could get a higher quality ring for significantly less money.
